I live in a RED RED county and thought I'd give you a report on the bumper stickers I've seen lately
other than the middle aged lady in a compact car who has a "Stewart/Colbert 08" sticker, the only other presidential stickers I've seen are several Ron Paul stickers

methinks my "Sportsman for Bush" demographic around here isn't very happy with the crop of Repuke candidates

4. I saw a truck with the gun rack and the hunting stickers
and pro gun stickers the other day. At the bottom, far left corner: "Fuck Bush."

Even the gunloons are starting to catch a clue.

3. It shows they're sick to death of GOP "business as usual"
because piddling around with flag burning amendments while they have to go to Juarez twice a year for medical and dental checkups is getting to be a real turnoff to the GOP in general and the official crop of post Stupid candidates in particular. It's a sign that they do NOT want to stay the course this time.

That's the first sign I've seen of the coming fracture in the GOP, the strange support for a fringer like Paul. Now there are rumblings of mutiny from the ranks of the lunatics like Dobson. There is going to be a split between economic lunatics and religious lunatics and it's WAY overdue. I doubt the coalition of the strange and stranger will last much beyond the next election, even if it does hold up through 2008.

My hope is that the Blue Dogs don't fuck up anything else from now until then. If they don't, I expect the GOP to stay home in droves and the Democrats to increase their voting percentage. The economic nuts realize the religious nuts can't govern and the religious nuts don't want the grubby business of minding the store to get in the way of their agenda.

This is going to be one for the history books, in any case.

5. I'm seeing a lot of Ron Paul stickers in our VERY red area that has been pro-Bush

for years. Most of them on large pickup trucks.

This is an area in SE PA (Chester County) that is rural with an overlay of high-end suburbia.
