5. Because so many things YHIS admin has done affects me personally!
I haven't always been a political junkie. It certainly used to seem like little that the Feds ever did made much of a difference in my life, so I just didn't pay much attention. I never missed voting in ANY election, but didn't pay much attention other than watching debates, and of course not being able to avoid all the damn TV ads and direct mail BS that occurrs close to voting time.

I was a fairly calm, easy going person politically even up to when Shrub took office the first time. I foolishly thought that no President could REALLY do much damage because we had enough oversight controls to stop that.

NOW, I'm a raving maniac! Sometimes I can't believe that I have so much passion and hatered!!!! It's not only me either. My youngest son (age 39) was never interested in anything political, but Shrub has managed to turn him into an irate Dem too!

I guess that's the one thing Shrub DID succeed at doing. He promised to unite the Country, and he DID! Almost 80% of Americans AND people in the World have united to hate him!

13. Bush and the pukes.
Want to know how stupid I was? I was never interested in politics. I foolishly thought that they all wanted what was best for the people. That they just had different ways of doing things.

Then came the hounding of President Clinton. I registered to vote for the first time when I was 46.

Along came Bush. I knew that gas prices would skyrocket. I knew that he would go into Iraq. I also feared that he would start WWIII. (I still do). Again, foolishly, I breathed a sigh of relief when he brought Colin Powell onto his team. I thought that Powell had integrity. I found out that NO pukes have it.

2004, I put out my first yard signs. 2006, I started volunteering and donating money. DU helped convince me, that it wasn't enough to just vote and that I had to get active.

I found out that I love my grandkids and my country enough to fight for it. I see it changing, not for the better, and I'm frightened.
