Dr. Hugh Cort III is a physician in the practice of psychiatric medicine, but the things that really define him are his family and his Christian faith.

Dr. Cort lives in Mountain Brook, Alabama with Deborah, his wife of 18 years. He is a member of Cahaba Fellowship and is active in medical missions to Africa, and he is a member of Gideons International, which distributes free Bibles worldwide.

Dr. Cort is a lifelong Republican, a member of Physicians for Life and a member of the President’s Club of the Republican National Committee.

If elected, Cort said, he would bomb Iran and Syria and flood Iraq with a quarter-million more American troops. Cort pledged he would end abortions the moment he was sworn in by signing an executive order halting them, and he said he would push Congress to pass an amendment mandating that marriage is between a man and woman only.

He charged that illegal immigrants are responsible for a million sexual assaults and thousands of murders of Americans. Cort said he'd stop illegal immigration by building a wall between Mexico and the United States from Texas to California.

While Cort talks a lot about Iraq, abortion and illegal immigrants, no concern is bigger than Osama bin Laden. Cort insists that bin Laden has smuggled in seven to 10 suitcase nukes through tunnels running from Mexico to the United States and has placed them in key cities, probably concealed in mosques, where they will "soon" go off unless he's elected president.

"I am the only candidate who can stop Osama," Cort said.

While numerous U.S. intelligence experts have testified that bin Laden and al-Qaida indeed want nuclear weapons, most of those experts maintain there is no credible evidence they have succeeded in acquiring them, let alone that they have placed them on American soil.

Cort, who bills himself as a counterterrorism expert, said he knows better.

"I am the only candidate who can save America from Osama's bin Laden's coming attack on America," Cort said.
