Is There No Decency Left in the Republican Party?
The American people have many reasons to be repulsed by the Republican Party and their deeply unpopular President. This gang of thugs abandoned every principle they ever professed and instead became the party of corruption, dishonesty, incompetence, coddling the privileged and systematically neglecting the nation’s needs, while debasing the nation’s honor with torture, kidnappings, warrantless spying, aggressive war and unparalleled lawlessness. It is a record unequalled in our history.

But even now, their capacity for meanness stuns us. That meanness is on full display in the right wing effort to smear and intimidate the Frost family for supporting SCHIP — and the Republican leadership’s silent acquiescence to having others do its dirty work. As Time Magazine noted, one “could never have imagined a day would come when a mere seventh grader could be swift-boated.” Welcome to the Republican Party in the Age of Meanness.

Democratic leaders have stepped forward to denounce the right wing Republican attacks on the family of the 12-year old who had the temerity to ask Americans to support a bill to provide health care to children.

2. Your sub line implies they once were actually decent.
It's been a long, long time since I recall any decency from a Republican.

5. Eisenhower.
The old New England Republicans. Hell, jumping Jim Jeffords is a decent man.

Linc Chaffee, too.

They both left the party.

6. Patriotism....that sticks in my throat
when it is applied to the bunch of republicans that support this administration. They start a furor over a man who does not wear a lapel pin and then absolute devastate a poor 12 year old and his family for speaking out. And speaking out in a "free" country is what patriotism is all about.

How about Patrick Henry..Ben Franklin. they spoke out. If they hadn't bush would be an insignificant failed pieced of crap. Oh. gee he is an insignificant failed piece of crap. MOST OF THE REAL AMERICANS in this country know that.

7. I'm starting to think GOPers are not even human.
To listen and believe that crap that Rush and Faux et al. spew out is beyond me. It goes beyond being stupid, they have absolutely no empathy or compassion for anyone but themselves. Seems like even their kids don't matter to them, they're very happy to pass on a dying planet and huge debt to their young. Guess the evil little twirps must think the Apocalypse is coming and they'll be on their way to heaven soon.

9. In short, NO.
Edited on Thu Oct-11-07 11:04 AM by AndyA
There are also NO ethics;

NO morals;

NO standards;

NO honesty;

NO compromise;

NO fairness;

NO responsibility;

NO peace;

NO spending constraints (except when it is good for the American people);

NO transparency;

In short, all the Republican Party can truly claim as their own is hypocrisy, death, destruction, lies, bigotry, hatred, pain, suffering, cronyism, war, and contempt for the American people.

Just the thing to get them elected next year, eh? :shrug: :eyes:
