Second National poll puts Hillary at >=50%...leads Obama by 32
Opinion Dynamics

Hillary 50
Obama 18
Edwards 11

Some other findings

More people think Hillary is "very" qualifed than any other contender...Democrat or Republican. 47% say Hillary is "very" qualified, followed by McCain at 34%, Guiliani at 32%, Obama at 23%

Among their party faithful, 73 percent of Democrats think Clinton is "very" qualified, compared to substantially fewer — 44 percent of Republicans — that say the same of both McCain and Giuliani.

61 percent of Democrats believe Clinton will be the next president, 25 percent of Republicans and 45 percent of independents believe the same

3. Why should we even bother with the primaries
America, MSM, the repukes, and even DU have given the nomination the Hillary, so why bother with the primaries.

Who ever is leading in the repuke polls face off with Hillary, and to hell with the rest of them.

Don't pay attention to Fox News, ABC/WashPost, and Gallup. These three polls are the worst in the business.

If all the polls were flawed the results would be random... They all woudn't show the same thing... That defies the laws of science...

Seems that a lot of DUers do- n matter how absurd the "results" are.

For instance, you can believe that over 70% of Americans believe that angels are watching over them! Same sort of deal.

Just one of many that make people who understand how they work laugh out loud.

Only a serious sucker would believe that non-sense. Unfortunately, many people are just that suckers.

One of many reasons why this country is in the sorry shape it's in.

19. You're A Smart Man
How can every poll be flawed in the same direction and showing, essentially, the same results?

Would you deny that one would expect the results to be random if all the polls are flawed?

Would you deny that the more polls you have the more robust your results?

Oh, and the only state by state poll shows Hillary Clinton is the only Democrat to get over 270 EC votes:

22. Yes, I saw that state by state poll, and if you think those early polls mean Hillary WILL get 270
you're misinterpreting that state by state poll. Everything is name ID, and a potential scenario way ahead of the actual vote. The nominees haven't been determined yet. We're still a year from the general.

No way Hillary gets to 270.

Edited on Thu Oct-11-07 04:34 PM by cobalt1999
On one hand, that is a fantastic lead, much more than I can remember in any campaign.

On the other hand, how much higher can she go? Won't that lead to the MSM to start concluding she is "slipping" and the other candidates have the momentum?

It's almost as if she is peaking too high, too soon. She'll have to use some interesting campaign tactics to hold onto that lead and do it in a way that doesn't give the impression that the country is moving away from her.

29. I don't doubt she's already got a strategy to handle this lead.
Holding all through the primaries would be historic though. The others are going to have to band together and go after her big time from here on out. She's going to be attacked more than ever now, so it'll be interesting to see if she has the same climb in the polls as her husband did.

I wouldn't count her out that's for sure.

She's a polarizing person, and she has an 88% approval rating among Democrats. If you're Obama and Edwards and you try to make it a referendum on Hillary Clinton, you will not win.

40. I've heard a lot of talk that Hillary is "peaking" here.
That might be true, but a peak usually requires a downturn at some point. I'd say the race is drawing to a close, really. Obama probably peaked around June, and Edwards was a flatline. Everyone else? Whatevers.

And Obama's fallen below the 20 mark. She's wrapping it up.

I don't like that only 61% of Dems and 45% of indies think she'll be the next president, but hopefully that'll go up as time goes on. 25% of Reps think so, and I like that; the more demoralized they are the better.
