Friends of Earth Action endorses John Edwards
http://action.foe.org/content.jsp?content_KEY=3331&t=FoE_Action_HOME.dwt

Friends of the Earth Action enthusiastically endorses John Edwards for President. He has led the way among the candidates in addressing global warming and ruling out a new embrace of nuclear power. He has also demonstrated himself to be the top-tier candidate most likely to stand up to the powerful, corporate polluters and their lobbyists. After seven years of the most destructive environmental president in modern history, we feel strongly that John Edwards will fight for a healthy and just planet as President.

3. I recall Friends of the Earth being involved (perhaps sponsoring?)
Paul McCartney's 1990 world tour.

18. Yes! Here ya go, hope the link works, it's from 1989:

edit to add a snip from the article:

The tour is expected to cost about $24 million, and Mr. McCartney, who so far has been shouldering the cost himself, is looking for a corporate sponsor to help with the expenses. Friends of the Earth, an environmental organization, is to be a beneficiary of the tour. The organization, which has affiliates in 33 countries, will distribute literature at the concerts, and will be given a four-page section in a 100-page souvenir program book that is to be distributed free at the concerts. 4. from the website:
Global warming is already happening, and our response must be swift and serious. Our response must also be fair to the world's population -- in particular those who bear least responsibility for the polution but who are already bearing the brunt of global warming's ongoing effects. Friends of the Earth Action exists to foster political demand for candidates and legislators who understand this.

Sounds like JE's getting a little help from his "friends" :D There's contact info there too, I suppose you can ask?

Over 100,000 members who obviously believe in the mission statement of this org? Much like Humane USA does for the animals.

6. Recommended, for the notion that we are the earth's stewards and have
something to learn from people who have accepted greater responsibility for its care than those less aware.

A sharp and informed group has chosen a keen and capable man to endorse.

16. FOE endorsement video diary up at Daily Kos by mbair
Friends of the Earth Action: Fighting for laws and lawmakers that protect the environment announced their endorsement today of John Edwards at a Town Hall meeting in Dover, NH.

As Brent Blackwelder, FoE-A President, and John Edwards stood on the grass just outside a lovely home in a stunning waterfront setting they both talked about why the issue of global warming is so vital to the future of our country and planet. Mr. Blackwelder enumerated the reasons for the group's endorsement, but his remarks were not just about the endorsement and the mortal peril our planet faces as the living breathing organism that it is.

Blackwelder laid down the gauntlet on the corrupt process that we all face as citizens of this country. A process and a system that makes honest dialog on an issue like global warming nearly impossible today.

Follow me below the fold for all the video of Blackwelder and Edwards in Dover today.

19. Mbair is a great citizen journalist
And I am thrilled about Friends of the Earth. he also won the Moveon.org vote for best environmental policy. And the unions are behind him. It's all connected and he sees that. The best big picture thinker with warmth since Bobby. Carter is a great statesman, but Edwards is that smart but with much more warmth. He exudes confidence that we can fix things.

20. League of Conservation Voters
very enviromental shows that Dennis Kucinch has the best voting record on the environment, Have FOE checked out Edwards voting record on the environment when he was in the Senate?
Granted I think he would be better for the environment than Clinton or Obama.
