Why are claims of a new facist America becoming more numerous right now?

They are getting louder and more strident and coming from more sources.
But why?

The facist machinery has been created by the Bush/Cheney administration
but they will be leaving office soon. Once they are out of office and we have
a new Democratic president the facist laws and illegal procedures will be
eliminated and a reasonably Constitutional government with checks and
balances firmly in place will be reinstated.

So why all the talk of a new permanent facist America?
It's only temporary.

... Isn't it?

2. I think a lot of people are just now beginning to recognize it for what it is.

They have to be distracted from American Idol long enough to absorb something that might actually have an impact on their lives. And now that more people are thinking about it, it's being mentioned more often.

It's too bad this couldn't have happened in 2003 instead of now, maybe we'd have John Kerry in office now instead of *.

A great example is the failed War on Drugs. Here is a policy that is destroying lives and costing billions, but because it exists, it is difficult to remove.

"Homeland" (ugh) Security is another.

The list goes on and on. These are fascist constructs, and until they no longer exist in ANY form in our government, fascism prevails.

And no, I don't think a Democratic president would rush to give up so much power. What's needed now is a strong majority in Congress in opposition to the president, whatever the parties might be.

(Otherwise known as checks and balances.)
