'08 Ticket wishes...too early?
Trust me: I'M NOT A HILLARY BACKER in the primaries.

But since there is a certain air of inevitability about her prospects for the nomination, what kind of ticket would you like to see in November 2008? Going further, are there any cabinet seats that look automatic?

Personally, I think a Clinton-Biden ticket would be interesting. And the only cabinet appointment I think prudent would be Wes Clark as Sec of Defense.

1. I think Gore-Obama would be interesting.
Obama would balance out Gore's supposed lack of charisma, and Gore balances Obama's supposed lack of experience. It's a perfect fit, I think.

2. So I guess that assumes Gore gets into the mix?
What if Gore actually does get in the race, wins the nomination, and selects Hillary as his running mate? Ha: Gore-Clinton '08.

In all seriousness...if Gore does prevail, I think he needs someone who is very strong/experienced in defense. I don't know who that would be, but someone like Sam Nunn or something.

6. Gore-Clinton would be pretty funny - but unlikely.
As far as possible running mates for Hillary, I think Richardson would be a good one. He gives her strength in the southwest, which I'm guessing would be a weak point, and a certain amount of leverage in the south, too, I'd suspect.

4. My choices in no particular order
Clinton/Wes Clark -- helps with foreign policy and the South (sure to win Arkansas, right?)
Obama/Dodd -- helps with getting the agenda through Congress and gives the ticket a wonkish boost
Edwards/Richardson -- helps with the Southwest and foreign policy
Richardson/Biden -- makes one heck of a foreign policy/national security team
Gore/Obama -- unbeatable ... this ticket has it all, IMO

5. I was more referring to Clinton pairings...
but some of those tickets look pretty nice.

My biggest thing is that, if he doesn't win the nomination, I think whoever does needs to resist the temptation to go with Edwards again (this is for electability, alone).

9. I'd like to see Max Cleland head up Veterans Affairs no matter who's in
the White House.
