The Alabama Democratic Conference endorsed U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton for the presidency
The Alabama Democratic Conference (ADC) is one of the nation’s oldest and most powerful black Democratic organizations. The ADC endorsement will go a long way to ensure a primary victory not only in Alabama, but in other states as well. Alabama's primary is Feb. 5, which it shares with other Southern states, including Arkansas, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Georgia (AP)- Hillary Rodham Clinton won the endorsement Friday of Rep. John Lewis, a hero of the civil rights struggle, in a blow to Barack Obama in the battle for black support for the Democratic presidential nomination.
"Without reservation or any hesitation I am proud to endorse Hillary Clinton to be the next Democratic nominee to be president of the United States," Lewis said at an appearance with Clinton at Paschal's Restaurant, an Atlanta landmark of the civil rights movement.
