NPR/Kaiser/Harvard poll: 62% support Dems. proposed increased funding for SCHIP. 32% oppose
Even after being told about arguments by opponents that this bill will wind up covering some children in the middle class, 62% of Americans support the increased funding, while 32% oppose it.

Overall, 50% balieve this SCHIP bill is mostly a good thing. 44% think it's mostly a bad thing.
Note that 62% consider those making "$60,000" as members of the "middle class", while 35% don't think so.
