Don't attack another candidate because you can't defend yours.
it doesn't help you or your candidate.

18. Good idea
And I would add that those who are still fighting the 2004 primaries be banished all together.

4. You're probably just a Hillary-supporting neocon.
Or perhaps a jealous pro-Obama homophobe.
Maybe you're a pie-in-the-sky Kucinich loon.
Maybe you're Mike Gravel's supporter.

Regardless, the problem is clearly that you support a different candidate than I do, and are thus of inferior intelligence and suspect moral fibre.

5. But if you have to defend yours, doesn't that mean someone is attacking to begin with?
Edited on Mon Oct-22-07 11:58 PM by Kurovski
Are you saying "don't attack" in general? What if the truth sounds like an attack? Are you saying "stop the madness!"? What if I'm too nuts too even know what I'm doing?:-)

Edit: Gdam question marks!

11. i'm saying if your candidate fucks up---own it, don't try and point out something
about another candidate to try and make your person look better. all candidates have flaws, some more and larger than others but they're all human and if they mess up just admit to it. not you specifically but you know what i mean.

when i make a mistake at work i don't say "Well hey last week Joe stole ink cartridges so that makes me look not as bad right, hmm, ya?"

13. Stealing is bad.
I get it. The comparative thingy.

Not exactly the same as "lesser of two evils".

Like Gore with NAFTA, I posted last week that "he fucked up" on that particular count. (He's not "really" running, but he's one of my candidates.)

Can I please get a gold star? I'll look up the post if I have to prove it!

10. Sounds reasonable to me.
I've been reading some of the threads and posts and I find that I am turned off by some of the infighting. I guess that is to be expected, but it does reflect poorly on the candidates.

15. How so? Every candidate has supporters who will do this.
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 12:26 AM by Kurovski
Does that mean all candidates look bad? Or Just Democrats here on DU? Repubs trash their candidates too. What does it say when supporters of Gullianni (sp?) are banned from a Repub website altogether?

How does that "reflect poorly" thing work? I don't get it. There are more positive supporters, in general, so wouldn't that balance things out?

Thanks, and welcome to DU! :bounce: :hi:

19. It reflects poorly when supporters of one candidate get into ad hominem attacks

of other candidates. I don't think it's necessary to attack other candidates in order to support your own. How about speaking highly of one's candidate without speaking ill of others? I feel there are enough attacks of Democratic candidates by republicans, why add fuel to that fire?

And hello to you too.:hi:
