Clinton puts North Carolina in Play
No Democratic Presidential candidate has won North Carolina’s Electoral Votes since Jimmy Carter’s victory more than three decades ago. George W. Bush won 56% of the vote and carried the state by double digits in both Election 2000 and Election 2004. But, the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows that New York Senator Hillary Clinton might be competitive in the Tarheel state during Election 2008.

4. Don't get me wrong. I do believe HRC can do well in NC. But not because Rasmussen says so.
I don't put any stock in his polls.

7. Believe what you want. I have spent quite a bit of bandwidth defending HRC's electability on DU.
Your snideness not withstanding.

Her hidden strength is the number of Republican and Independent women who are going to quietly vote for her - particularly if she is matched up against someone like Ghouliani, who seems to go out of his way to piss off progressive thinking women.

8. excuse me.
I'm just agreeing with you. If you don't want to put anything into Rasmussen, that is your business. "Sure" does not equate to snideness unless you're defensive already.

14. That would suggest Clinton is actually leading in NC by more than 10 points.
Unless the theory is that Rasmussen over samples republicans everywhere except NC, where he somehow manages to over-sample Dems while simultaneously under sampling Dems when the question is about a candidate other than Clinton.

22. I'm not sure about that. I followed his polls pretty closely in 2006 and they
were mostly spot on with the exception of Maryland which almost every pollster had far too close. They have a hard time believing just how big the Democratic edge in Maryland is I think.
