In three months this will all be over.
I don't know whether DU will come together behind the eventual nominee, as we largely did in 2004. At this point, if it's Clinton, I have serious doubts that that will happen. I think the antipathy toward her here is broad and deep. But whether DU backs the eventual nominee or not, the end is in sight. It feels like this race has been going on forever. I'll just be relieved when it's over, and we can talk about more substantive things, and hopefully get back to expending some of our energy on attacking republicans.

1. Most people will, I'm sure.
Most people, save for those who were either too young or too stupid to learn the lesson of the 2000 election.

3. I don't think so
I think most of DU is firmly against Clinton. I doubt that will change if she gets the nomination. Sure, some people will hold their noses, but I'm guessing that a significant number won't go that far.

2. If HRC is the nominee, I will grudgingly support her
Because after all the damage * has done, this country can't take another criminal, fascist Republican administration.

4. If Clinton gets elected, it will be an anti-climax.
I think even the Republicans know they owe the Democrats the next election. If Clinton wins, there just won't be much excitement from either sides of the aisles.

5. Well, it will be for me.
But I'm not sure what you mean when you say the repukes know they owe the dems the next election.

9. They've fucked up so badly that they just want it over.
Being on the top isn't all what it's cracked up to be. You see, they can only think about making it to their golden parachutes. They don't know how to land the plane and save the people inside.

6. Yeah
Regardless of who comes out on top there is likely to be a hang over like feel to the place for a while.

I think a lot of us will cool somewhat in interest if Hillary wins the nomination. For myself, I can predict that I will vote for Hillary in the general election but it is unlikely I will be able to experience much enthusiasm about it. She simply does not well represent my views on things like the growing power of corporations, the war, stuff like that. But, so goes life ... doubtless, her presidency would be a massive improvement over the current situation.

7. All I know is it would be nice to vote "for" somebody for a change
rather than "against" somebody. If the polls are correct, it's not looking good for me in that respect.

8. That would be nice.
It's been quite some time since I had that experience. The last time was in 1992.

10. Ruling Class
Despite Americans constantly professing their love for outsiders, new blood, change, etc., when push comes to shove, they like the familiar. So HRC, despite her being the biggest DC insider imaginable, will win the nomination based largely on her last name.

Deep down, America wants a ruling class and a royal family. Bush -- Clinton -- Bush -- Clinton.

wants to 'stay the course'. i will hold my nose and vote for hillary . . . and hope that she turns out to be less the corporatist i believe she is. one can only hope that she will be more progressive than her husband ever was, but i won't hold my breath. at this point, hillary is the last person i would vote for in the primaries (and i have SO wanted a female prez!) but there is no doubt i will vote for her if she makes it to the general election. we must.

i still contend that it is the rw that is pushing hillary AND making her poll numbers look good. as mentioned elsewhere . . . if her #s are close to the repug candidate, they can (and will) steal the office again. we HAVE TO come out in force.
