says more about you or them than it does about those hurt and outraged by the event. I wouldn't be so proud of the fact that everyone isn't up in arms about it. I wouldn't be so happy that it isn't getting tons of play in the MSM. I wouldn't be so quick to charge an oppressed minority with overreacting or whining.

At least take off your spikes while you are standing on these peoples backs. And yes, we in the majority that enjoy our rights are doing just that, standing on their backs and telling them to stop complaining about it. I'm not innocent or exempt...I'm complicit as well, but I'm not taking any delight in it.

As a non-white person, I'm certainly not surprised by what I think most people in this country actually feel in regards to minorities. I am sometimes surprised, however, by what they will openly state.

9. Mulberry is unfortunate, but he's just a donor.

Lots of people donate to campaigns who don't agree with candidates positions on every issue.

And Mulberry's not prominently featured in a campaign tour. McClurkin not only sang, but MC'ed the event, and spent a half hour preaching his bigoted view on homosexuality. And Obama gave him a platform for that.

Apparently Obama's made the calculation that he'd rather have the votes of anti-gay bigots, black and white, than from people who support gay rights and are repelled by people like McClurkin.
