Ron Paul Is Money
Source: Abc News

Mark it down: A landmark moment entered the annals of political fundraising Nov. 5, 2007.

If Texas Republican Ron Paul's Web site fundraising meter is to be believed, the Libertarian candidate, who has lagged in the polls but raised as much money as top-tier candidates, passed $3 million in online fundraising in less than 24 hours.

1. He's a sucker's candidate.
A lot of suckers gave him a lot of money today. Doesn't change the fact he is a Right Wing Libertarian.

Might not agree 100% with him, but I can tell you this, he puts the "top Tier" democrats to shame.

27. refreshing???? what is refreshing? that instead of hiding his fucked up
agenda, he spews it out? That's not refreshing, that just another political pig that won't shut up.

he lives by the broken clock rule of politics. He's right on two, just two topics, but a complete nut case on everything else regarding humanity.

He's about as refreshing as a fresh turd on my front lawn.

26. bwahaha.
he's a fuckin' nutcase of the first order and a bigot to boot. He wants to return to the gold standard, pull out of the U.N., dismantle the social safety network, lower corporate taxes to zip, outlaw abortion rights, and much, much more- all of it bad, except for ending the war in Iraq

Give me ANY of the top tier dems over that fucked up little creep.

3. Rons getting a bit of a bounce with anti-war people in Texas
I know some people who might actually vote for him in the general election. I don't think I could do that - left to him corporations would rule america due to lack of "government interference", Social Security would be scuttled, etc. I think he believes what he says, but ain't it strange how utopian a view for a right winger.
On the war and a humble foreign policy I agree with him, though. And though I intend to vote for whichever Democrat prevails in my state (Texas) knowing that none of them will carry it, and to throughly stir up the Republicans in the state, I could see crossing over for the primaries only.

15. The Corporations Might Not Like Ron Paul As Much as You Think
Ron Paul wouldn't take America to war for them. He wouldn't allow the government to interfere in their favor either.
No more subsidies. No more fat defense contracts with little competition and no oversight.

Real capitalism. Not what we have now.

It's not capitalism anymore when robber barons buy the government.

The robber barons would miss their subsidies, and they would miss having the US Army as enforcers even more.

His isolationist foreign policy is the neocons' worst nightmare.

The fundies wouldn't like him because he isn't one of them and does not even pretend to be.

Note that my support for Ron Paul extends only to the Republican Primary.
I am wishing him on the Repiglickins, but not on the country. I don't want him to be President.

11. Gun loving, Libertarian, White males are his base.
I know them here in Georgia. They're the every man for themselves crowd. Selfish and insane Republican-light.

The good news is that once Paul falls, they'll be demoralized and fail to get to the polls to vote Republican.

14. Well, he is the only one getting any grassroots support in pubic
In my trip deep into North Dakota a week ago, it was two Paul signs and one bumper sticker along the route and nothing for anyone else of either party. He is to Republicans in a way that Kucinich is to Democrats, not afraid to rock the party establishment platform with different ideas.

12. I think that those who would vote for Ron Paul tend to be Republican so his presence
in the general election, assuming he runs even if he loses the Republican nomination, would benefit the Democrat.

It makes it that much harder for the revisionist historians on the right to say how popular this war is when the only anti-war republican candidate gets this much hype.

and how we can't afford it. That's a pretty courageous position to take. Whether you agree with his domestic policies (and I certainly do not) or not, this is absolute fact for anybody who wants to keep Medicare and Social Security, which Paul would destroy anyway. Kucinich is the only Democrat who is willing to be upfront about US military hegemony. The other Republicans and Democrats want to dominate and exploit the world with the guise of spreading democracy or fighting terrorism.

24. He wants to do away with birthright citizenship.
He is not in favor of any kind of amnesty for those living and working here, that crossed the border illegally.

He wants to privatize Social Security.

He wants to reverse Roe v. Wade.

He wants to take US out of the UN.

He wants to ignore the ICC.

He wants to cut everybody's taxes at Our Commons expense.

He is no good.

But, if he can gain traction, why can Kucinich, though admittedly Dennis has some tougher competition.

28. Longshot White House hopeful Paul takes in $4.3 million
By Jeremy Pelofsky

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican presidential longshot Ron Paul became an Internet fund-raising sensation this week by bringing in $4.3 million in 24 hours through a Web drive by supporters.

The fund-raising by Paul, a Texas congressman who is the only Republican to oppose the Iraq war and who has argued for a limited government, was almost as much he took in from July to September. During that time period, he raised $5 million.

But Paul has been outpaced by Republican rivals who have raised tens of millions of dollars. Mitt Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, raked in more than $6.5 million during a daylong telephone marathon in January.

"The message is powerful and the level of frustration in this country that people are sick and tired of what they're getting," Paul told the MSNBC network on Tuesday. "They don't like the war and they don't like the economy. And they like the answers that I've been giving."
