1. So let me understand this. Those who vote for Paul believe civil rights is a state issue
In other words, lets go back to the racist segregationist policies prior to the civil rights movement in the 60s

Where is the critical thinking people?

2. I want to know how badly people want to end the Iraq war.
Edited on Tue Nov-06-07 09:44 AM by Bleachers7
Is that so far more important than anything else? If so, then Hillary is not your candidate.

3. I am not critising your poll, in fact I find it interesting.
If the people really wanted to end the war Kucinich would be the person. Unfortunately, I don't think they really want to end the war

Yes, those on the left who vote for Paul would do so to end the war, but I think it is Ironic that those on the right who vote for Ron Paul do so because of a different agenda

14. I would add Richardson to that list
He is the only one who keeps saying day 2, troops out of Iraq.

5. I really think DU people may not understand his pre civil war views on state rights
On the other hand, as the OP expressed, many are so concerned with ending the Iraq war, that they would do it at any cost

What is ironic is that was the same thought process after 9/11, people were so concerned about their security, that they had no problem having their Constitutional rights taken away

Just my personal thoughts

6. Sorry, but hard line Libertarian just seems too much like a Republican on steroids.
I'd rather have a milque toast Republican like Hillary. :)

7. ATTN: Ron Paul voters.
Edited on Tue Nov-06-07 09:37 AM by Basileus Basileon
You have just stated that, rather than a moderate liberal, you would prefer a hardcore conservative--one who makes George Bush look downright socialist. Please reregister at freerepublic.com. If you are voting for him due to his insistence on "states' rights," please reregister at stormfront.org. Thank you.

13. Actually, I like your third option.
It seems rather appropriate for the poll. :)

9. Ron Paul wants to do away with...
Edited on Tue Nov-06-07 09:38 AM by riqster
Our public works, our entire social welfare system, the VA, FDA, EPA, and on and on.

He's a right-wing Libertarian, who is SO anti-Government, he makes Reagan look like LBJ.

Go ahead, vote Paul, if you want dysentery, potholes, dead children, no schools, and so on.

16. Good lord, the tunnel vision on here is astounding...
Yes the war is horrible.
Yes we all want the war to end.
But voting to give up civil liberties and social safety nets simply to vote for someone who would end the war is as idiotic as the republican bedwetters giving up civil liberties and social safety nets just to protect us from the evil terrorists.
