Biden For President Announces New Iowa Political Endorsement
Yet another one!

Nov. 6: Biden For President has announced a new political endorsement from Iowa Dem. State Senator Herman C. Quirmbach, making this the twelfth endorsement from Iowa legislators for U.S. Sen. Joe Biden’s democratic presidential campaign.

Rep. Quirmbach explained his reasons for endorsing Sen. Biden’s candidacy. “Joe Biden …is our best hope to restore America’s credibility in the world - credibility we’re going to need if we’re going to lead on nuclear issues, terrorism, global warming, energy and a host of others.”

Sen. Biden remarked, “Like many Americans, Sen. Quirmbach is concerned for our economic security, and knows the next president will have to make fiscally responsible decisions to put America back on track. I am proud that he has pledged to support my efforts to change course.”

Sen. Quirmbach, representing Iowa District 23, chairs the Education Committee, and serves on the Human Resources, Judiciary, Local Gov’t and Ways and Means Committees. He also serves on the Commission on Tobacco Use, Prevention and Control. In 2001, as a member of the Ames city council, Quirmbach voted to ban smoking in city restaurants from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.. Ames was the first city in Iowa to do so. Quirmbach is an economics professor at ISU.

3. Well you and I aren't too surprised by his momentum
are we? Seems we bookmarked an earlier thread about Biden. :hi:

I didn't forget and I'm sure you didn't either.

5. Oh yuck! I think it does.
Too bad though. It would work well otherwise.

My son said a while back that Biden should run with Obama and call it Joebama. I've heard it numerous times since then.

6. That could go well.
"Man, Joebama so fat, even Ted Stevens thought there was too much pork!"

13. I really love it when somebody posts a slam on Ted Stevens. Thank you.
I never thought much of Ted generally and I like him even less now.

Great 'pork' line.

12. Hey there, nice person. Yep. We tossed this notion around early on.
I'm a bit envious of the people working in the early primary states. They get in on all the early fun.

But I'll watch from afar. It feels very volatile, like when the weather forecasters say things like "the atmosphere is unstable" -- it feels to me as if Iowa could shift big time between now and caucus night.

There's no question that Biden is moving up. He's got a little less than two months. It's going to be wild.

10. I hope he continues to move up in the polls and get endorsements.
This problem in Pakistan may be positive for Joe. He has a way of talking that makes you feel it isn't rehearsed, but from his head and his heart. He can come into the presidency running, which has to be important since there's such a huge mess to clean up.

Go, Joe!

11. He evokes confidence in me
I really need to know that there is a knowledgeable, decisive person in charge. I wish he was in the White House right now. We'd all sleep better.
