Richardson has a new book out on energy policy.http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/11/06/450818.aspx Richardson plugged his book on energy policy, Leadership By Example, and laid out some broad energy goals for the United States.
“We have not had a coherent national energy policy,” the presidential candidate and former energy secretary said. “Oil is over $90 a barrel. Imagine how bad the winter is going to be for those with heating oil…. This number’s bleeding us to death, and we can’t afford more wars and turmoil in the Middle East.
”With less than 60 days to go before the first votes are cast, Richardson said he will focus on Iraq and his energy policy in hopes of those issues propelling him to the nomination. “On the war, I’m only candidate calling for no residual forces,” Richardson said, adding later, “These two issues will likely be my signature issues in the final 60 days.”
