Thanks to the Democratic Party, Republicans can now distance themselves from Bush Co:
And this is how Republicans are going to be able to distance themsevles from Mr. Less-Popular-Than-Nixon:

"If you're asking why we didn't do anything to rein in our own party's administration, let me tell you that I voted for the bill to impeach the vice president, whereas my opponent was more concerned with killing it over partisan squabbles."

2. I can't believe they'd brag about trying to impeach cheney.
Edited on Wed Nov-07-07 12:53 PM by Skip Intro
That seems risky, despite cheney's unpopularity. They've all been very careful not to condem buscho, the eleventh comandment or wtf ever. Plus, the flag-waving sheeple that make up the repuke base would be turned off big time, imho. I just don't see repukes touting a vote to impeach happening. And if it did, I'm sure an ad with that one vote, conratsted to all the lock-step votes in support of buscho, would diminish any effect the claim might have had.

4. The issue is accountabilty.
The Republicans can now claim they tried to hold the Bush Administration accountable - and Dems shelved it. Any time a Democratic candidate complains about Bush Co, that is what is going to be thrown back int their faces.

3. Uh, no...I don't see that happening.

There is a bloc of about 25% of eligible voters that still believe Little Lord Pissypants walks on water--and voting for a resolution to get rid of his "brain" would, I think, turn that bloc away from the Republican candidate.
