This is why Pat Robertson is endorsing Rudy.
I think what gets lost in all the flap over Giuliani’s support of abortion rights and his, well, deviance from social conservative orthodoxy on issues like gay rights and cross dressing, is the fact that he frames his warmongering in explicitly religious terms.
This is not the Bush ecumenical War on Terror. In Rudy’s eyes, “Islamic terrorists are at war with us… They want to kill us… They hate you.”
For all his bad marriages and worse adulteries, he’s a Holy Warrior at heart.
