Giuliani will protect us?

I don't get it. Yes, he was the face of the calm during the 9/11 chaos and confusion. I will give him this.

But what makes him qualify to "protect us" from future terrorist attacks? It's not as if he prevented the previous one. And it is not as if he knows how to hire law enforcement leaders, either.

2. He didn't call for an evacuation of the towers after the first plane hit

a gross failure... People were told to go back to their desks. Nobody calls him on that.

rather, the police, or the port authority, or other professionals who would know how to handle this.

But this, too, adds to my question: what exactly has he done to qualify as "our protector?"
