(New York- WABC, November 7, 2007) - Eyewitness News has learned former Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik expects to be indicted Friday in a federal tax fraud case sure to cause headaches for Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani.
A grand jury that has been hearing evidence in the case for several months was expected to vote Thursday on whether to indict Kerik, a federal law enforcement official said Wednesday.
Sources say Kerik's indictment is expected to be unsealed Friday, followed by his arraignment in federal court in White Plains.
Kerik has told close friends and members of his legal team that he expects the indictment on charges, which are related to the filing of his 2000 federal tax return, to come before the statute of limitations expires on November 15.
