Bill not targeting Bush and Cheney: "...the country is over that." Since when?
Edited on Thu Nov-08-07 01:11 PM by blm
>>>>>>>
Any shot at the current president is an automatic applause line with a Democratic audience. But rather than taking the easy ovation, Clinton gently deflected an audience member's suggestion that President Bush be included in his list of global problems.

"Yeah, Bush and Cheney," he said. "I could sit here all night and make you laugh and cry and stand up and cheer talking about the president and the vice president. But the country is over that. Let's get the show on the road again."

http://www.lvrj.com/news/11044976.html

Moving past serious illegal operations of Bush1 helped BushInc to grow stronger throughout the 90s while left unchecked by any oversight and led us straight to Bush2.

http://consortiumnews.com/2006/111106.html

Do Democrats want to repeat that exact same mistake and move past Bush and Cheney?

And since when has the country declared they don't want Bush and Cheney's crimes of office discussed, REVEALED or dealt with by Democrats?

Did Mark Penn conduct that survey for Bill?

1. Over that? I didn't realize they were brought to justice for their crimes, Mr President.

blm is correct. We tried sweeping criminal activity under the rug (think Iran contra, BCCI) before. How did that work out for us?

Edited on Thu Nov-08-07 01:28 PM by blm
Hmmmm....WHO has been advising Democrats in DC to move past discussing Bush and Cheney's wrongs?

What Democratic voices hold that much influence in DC, anyway?

Is the "country" ready to move past BushInc's crimes of office, AGAIN, William?

You said you supported Bill moving past BushInc's crimes before, so are you supporting that same decision for BushInc2?

I am looking to the Future which does not include Bush. But thanks for trying to put words in my mouth, again.

One can 'look to the future' while still at least making a SHOW of upholding the rule of law, don't you think?

15. Oh I am!
I'm calling the members of the Judiciary Committee to support impeachment proceedings.

I know it's not the 'establishment dems' first priority, they're busy with other important work, like betraying us on fair trade or overriding vetoes on resource bills... but still, I like to let them know what I think is important... and ousting war criminals is pretty important in my book!

to the benefit of those who committed them and those who profitted from them.

Do you side with the right people who do not ignore accountability or with the WRONG people who do side with secrecy and privilege of the powerful over accountability?

And now the story is the same - move past whatever Bush and Cheney are doing.

You want that repeat - many of us don't.

Most don't know the connection to what went on in the 90s - you do - you don't care that it will happen again.

37. I cut to the bottom line of what is being said and the end result -
It's crystal clear what happened and crystal clear what will happen again.

Your decision to support secrecy and privilege DOES effect me and all of us who have been fighting it for so long.

And you also work to convince others that supporting secrecy and privilege is OK every time you defend it. So, expect those of us who want honest and open government to counter your efforts.

Simple as that.

EXACTLY the same thing they did before in the 90s with all THOSE outstanding matters.

I am not interested in playing the role of Charlie Brown while the Clintons play Lucy.

I care about honest and open government accountable TO the people.

In an October CNN/Opinion Research poll, Clinton was supported by 51 percent of Democratic voters and had a 30 point lead over Obama."

Edited on Thu Nov-08-07 04:45 PM by jenmito
If someone has a large lead and she starts to drop, that's a downward trend. If the person she's leading increases his numbers, that's an upward trend. Until the downward line and upward line intersect, the one still in the lead will be in the lead...until she's not. I hope you can understand. It's not that difficult. :hi:

He needs to just stay home and shut up. We're not beyond bush** and cheney ANYTHING. Of course, he doesn't want to upset Poopy I'm sure.

Doesn't anyone wonder about all this. I also recall Hillary Clinton and her trip or trips to see Kay Bailey Hutchison, not sure of dates, but this bothered me too!

These aren't the only reasons I oppose Hillary Clinton, there are many, but the Bush Connections really don't warm my "cockles!"

41. You give the guy more credit than he's got coming. Any intelligent
dem understands how he covered for both the Reagan and bush I administrations. They also know he floated in on the dot.com bubble and floated out in a cloud of disgrace when the bubble burst.

I don't know who you talk to but every dem I know really resents the fact that his attraction for dumpy unattractive women was too damn strong for him to resist. But the bigger sin, as far as most of us are concerned was the disingenuous attempt to lie his way out of his mess. That's where he betrayed his supporters and the party along with his family and friends.

17. He and HRC are enablers
Forgiveness and injustice is what we can expect from an HRC presidency. And the neocons will rise again, just as they did after Nixon. If there are no repercussions from breaking the law, shredding the constitution, and murdering hundreds of thousands of people in criminal wars--OUR NIGHTMARE WILL NEVER END.

Bill Clinton belongs in the past. It is no longer the 90's. We are teetering on the edge of global disaster and a cumbaya circle jerk is not going to cut it.

22. Economic recovery alone will take a decade.
It will take at least two democratic terms to make a dent in the economic destruction the bush regime has wrought. Recovering our standing in the world and making progress on the environment will take even longer. The country was just beginning to get over Reagan/Bush at the end of Clinton's second term. Healing takes time.

YOU think protecting BushInc is somehow helpful to this nation JUST because you trust Bill Clinton's decision to do so.

Yours and my trust of Clinton's decisions in 1992 did end up hurting alot of people once Bush2 took over. YOUR trust in Clinton's willingness to move past even MORE crimes of office from BushInc2 ends up hurting ALL of us...again.

when they say Americans don't want accountability.

You are pretty cavalier about serious matters that led to Bush2, 9-11, Iraq war, possible war with Iran and Pakistan's world of troubles.

Evidently you agreed with Bill that BushInc needed more protection than the American citizenry needed accountability because you trust his decision to side with secrecy and privilege.

Thank you for not answering back to the swift boat liars and ignoring them until the charges stuck. that he was listed as one of the outstanding matters in BCCI report he was handed when he took office.

Jackson Stephens was also a big part of BCCI.

Jackson Stephens bankrolled WalMart, and was a top benefactor of Poppy bUhsh's before he switched to Bill Clinton, and then Stephens switched back to Bush2 in 1999.

Uh....Bush1 expected to get impeached when the Dec1992 BCCI report came out - Jackson Stephens, a completely loyal BFEE man, switches to support Clinton - Bush then proceeded to run the worst campaign ever for a sitting president. Bill took office and then BCCI's outstanding matters went away.

Read Bill's book - there is not one mention of BCCI in his book.

It is a shame when even at DU we can find so many Democrats unaware of even recent history and that it effects everything happening today.

fighting terror and a good job in Iraq, and says so in 2004, how do you think that affects the polls? Does that help the encumbent Republican or the Democratic challenger?

This post is not about Kerry, but Clinton, who has clearly punted on REAL criticism of Bush, staying with domestic issues only until the run up to his wife running for president. Amazingly now, he STILL is punting on Bush. It boggles the mind.
