All this talk about the babyboom generation and Obama reminds me of another jerk
Who dared to speak about a changing of the Guard. Remember when he said:

"Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans."

Yeah, what an asshole he turned out to be.

17. The OP is making the comparison
Also the Obama campaign likes to trot out Sorensen, JFK's speech writer, to do the same.

21. But you didn't know Jack Kennedy; Ted Sorensen did and he disagrees with you
In any case, the OP was just comparing their words on this specific issue. That doesn't mean he's saying Obama will be the next JFK. It's a common logical error to make, so don't feel bad.

Funny how that worked. Made it really easy to see who's been driving it.

This OP is reminiscent of how Obama supporters didn't understand the significance of Obama giving a mic to a homophobe

8. Jesus H. Christ...and I don't swear but this deserves it.
There is no way in hell that Obama can even be compared to John F. Kennedy. We know Obama supporters would like to make the connection BUT IT SURE AS HELL AIN'T THERE.

11. Thanks for the insite..but you don't really have enough information to make that statement
If you remember your history, JFK was considered a poor candidate in his first election, too young, too inexperienced, too green.

You can't judge a man against other Presidents, until that man is President himself.

Obama is not a new generation, and there's nothing wise about him trashing the very people who made it possible for a black man to run for president.

Amazing isn't it?
Actually Kennedy was talking about the WWII generation replacing old man Eisenhower's.
I remember my parents bitching about how senile Eisenhower seemed toward the end.

What change did they fight for? That generation is marked by fear of communism and the spread of atheism. And never questioning authority. A new guard was surely needed.

Not all baby boomers were 60s/70s activists. There's been a lot of posting about baby boomers as though the two were the same.

27. I've seen some dispute in drawing the dates for belonging to
the 'boomers'. I suspect the real line is pre-kennedy/post-kennedy. There is a huge change of culture beginning in those years, coinciding with the presidency of Kennedy. I would suggest that post-kennedy kids have a different take on the world than the 'boomers'. IMHO

35. Dispute...perhaps...but the Cencus Bureau has defined it...
Others can take up their dispute with them. Baby Boomers were born between 1946 and 1964. Check the link if you question it.
