Everybody's got to peel their own potato!
Stop all US foreign aid grants! None for Pakistan, Iraq, Israel, Egypt or any other country. If they can not be accounted for and are not used well, stop them. When grants are used against our interests, stop them. No more money given to be spent in specific ways, i.e., no giving money to country A so they can buy military materials from us. We can't afford them anyway!

No corporate subsidies! No tax breaks to encourage this or that behavior. How many billions has Exxon/Mobil gotten over the years for R & D? Have they made any usable breakthroughs? Every one of those corporations receiving bucks tout capitalism until its time for a subsidy or a tax break.

No agricultural subsidies to any to any farmer or farm company worth more than $10 million or some reasonable amount (my knowledge of farming not being very extensive!). When urban legislators in IL are receiving large amounts of dollars and small farmers are not, it stinks. When Black farmers are still treated as if Jim Crow were still the law of the land, it stinks.

Stop all 'drug war' grants and funds which are distributed to other countries. The drug war is a farce.

Of course there may be legitimate international and national needs but those can be met on a case by case basis. But if the government felt the need to impose a pay cut and asset devaluation by devaluing the dollar by one third, or allowing it to devalue by that fraction, affecting every US citizen, then we cannot afford to continue to pay these foolish grants.

Tell the world to look to China, India and Russia for the taken-for-granted US funds.

Hey! Maybe then the US can solicit for grants to come our way!

1. I'd agree if we cut off all military aid. Non-military aid is less than
1% of the budget. Maybe if we exported food and the like instead of F-16s and missiles the third world would be better off.

2. Thanks. I just think we give governments and corporations money too easily, for...
...too small of a return. US aid for 'democracy' creeps me out. It was used in Venezuela to attack and depose Chavez. It is used to attack others with whom we disagree, sometimes violently. Of course you're right regarding military aid.

I'd like to see us export food instead of F-16's but it's a problem that a ton of, say, wheat costs less (and generates less profits for those who make profits) than a ton of F-16's.
