If you made it back from Viet Nam, thank a war protester
Much has been said about the heroisim of our troops who have been sent to die in various campaigns throughout history. I would like to express gratitude for those who have fought for this country. I would also like to express gratitude to those who have fought to keep them safe on our shores. Those of us in this country who have marched in the streets, who have been teargassed and beaten with truncions for our opposition to wars that have nothing to do with Democracy or Freedom, wars that have more to do with using the lower class as cannon fodder so the military industrial complex can profit on the backs of our brothers and sisters. I would just like to add this post to remember those of us who said no.

We too, are patriots.
We too, have suffered.
We too are on the watch lists

3. I'm a veteran of that time. I have always thanked the protesters.
We need to have a heroes wall somewhere in the US capital for those who fought to end that war. If they hadn't we would still be there, bogged down with no end in sight. This is what could happen in Iraq.

Like next to the Vietnam Memorial the question: "If the war hadn't been stopped how big would this wall be"?

It's not like you get a permanent award or anything. You posted that thread on Sunday night. It had 24 hours to get the 5 recs, then only 24 hours to stay on Greatest. Much ado about nothing!
