What if Edwards passes Barack Obama?

Will Obama turn his fire on Edwards?

This should be interesting...

11. I'll believe it when I see it
Most of the Obama supporters I know have Edwards as their second choice, and vice versa. Kind of like an Anybody But Hillary coalition...

4. I Think Edwards And Trippi Are Playing Obama And It's Distressing
They are trying to use his campaign as a trojan horse to weaken Hillary...But how the Hell does that help Obama?

Anyway I am sure that Hillary would rather face Edwards mano a mano than Obama... Because if Edwards disposes of Obama the lion's share of Obama's African American vote which is around 40% will go to Hillary...That, coupled with her strong support from women will easily put her over the top... I don't see her losing the Democratic nomination while getting fifty or so percent of the women's vote and ninety or so percent of the African American vote...

Barack Obama is my electoral second choice and sentimental first choice... I'm saddened he let himself be "played"....

6. I'm Disappointed That David Axelrod Is Letting Joe Trippi Play Him
Axelrod is a veteran of Chicago politics... He helped elect Chicago's first African American mayor, Harold Washington.. He should know better...

Oh well...

7. Obama's my first choice
And I have had the same concerns. But I haven't seen real evidence of Obama's falling for the Edwards/Trippi play. I admit my fingers have been way crossed, though, that he will move himself swiftly away from this trap.

8. I Started This Campaign Season As A Huge Obama Supporter
Ironically, the attacks on HRC made me look at her again and see her in a different light... I thought she was formulaic... I still think she is... That doesn't mean she's a "bad" person... She's just "mechanical", similar to the way a journeyman athlete or musician is "mechanical"... The positive thing about her is her drive... That' why I support her...

I like Barack... The thing with the Donnie McClurkin bothered me, not because I think it's reflects his true feeling but because he picked a fight where he didn't have to... I have nothing against fighting... I am against fighting fights that don't need to be fought; such as fights between socially conservative African Americans and gays...

17. I've been reading that Trippi dispises Edwards and likes Obama
You are reporting the opposite. What's that based on?

10. Obama has no fire. Haven't you noticed?
He's just an Edwards copycat who got a lot of support because of one speech made at the Democratic Convention in 04. One speech does not a president make.

16. It would be mutually beneficial for Obama and Edwards to work around eachother
They should both atack whomever they need to and avoid each other. They will probably both rise that way much like Kerry and Edwards got past Dean and Gephardt.

12. Better question--what happens if Edwards leaves the race?
Who do his supporters throw their weight behind? If they go with Obama, it could be just the boost he needs to pass Hillary.

13. Considering Edwards Is Polling In Single Digits
Considering Edwards is polling in single digits among African Americans and Hillary is polling at around sixty percent and Obama at thirty five percent I suspect those votes go to Hillary...Hillary is currently polling at 60% with women.. I don't see how you can win the Democratic nomination when your opponent is getting over half the women vote and ninety percent of the African American vote...

I'd bet my home and car the Clinton team would rather go mano a mano with John Edwards than Barack Obama...

15. Mabe I'm missing something.
What is wrong with "I am the first man of color standing for the Presidency, Senator Clinton is the woman standing, Governor Richardsonis the first candidate of latin descent,Senator Joe Biden the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee with x years as for x years, Dennis Kucinch rescued Cleveland's Power Utility etc. Our nominees are strong. We represent America. We will bring real change and justice

Our republican opponents are the same collection of use by date pankcakes, with a few flip flops thrown in as well. Out of out ideas on a sour syrup."
