McCain Stands By As His Supporter Calls Hillary A "Bitch"...
I suspect a contingent here won't have a particular problem with this as she gets called that here from time to time...

In any case, here is the story...

From TPM...copy of the video at the link

"How do we beat the bitch?" McCain's supporter asked him. And as you can see, it appears that after McCain joked about offering a "translation" of his supporter's query, he said:

"That's an excellent question."

He went on to add that he had "respect" for Hillary. We've checked in again with the McCain camp for comment on this, and we'll bring you their answer if we get one.

2. based on the way he handled it
Hillary will gain support and it could be a moment that deeply hurts him amoung working women. The lady who said it looks like the typical country club republican. The base will find it funny, working women will be pissed at the lack of respect.

6. "The lady who said it looks like the typical country club republican."
I thought the same thing: she could take the rust off my car by just standing near it...

8. it is horrible to categorize
but based upon her comment I don't feel bad. I bet she has a picture of Barbara Bush hanging in her house. Never worked a day in her life, plays bridge, golfs, drinks martinis, and if she sees anyone of color she immediately fears them, unless they are doing work for her, then she bosses them around and worries that they might lift some of her China. Something tells me this lady knows a lot about being a Bitch!

3. "Democrat Party?"
Edited on Tue Nov-13-07 03:41 PM by KansDem
Man, this McCain sure has been busy calling that number the GOPers called prior to going on radio/TeeVee for interviews to receive their "talking points..."

1) He doesn't rise to the occasion to bring a semblance of decorum to this campaign, allowing the term "bitch" to stand...

2) He claims to have respect for anyone winning the nomination of the "Democrat Party." I find this disingenuous at best: He permits "bitch" to be used to describe his opponent, then claims to have respect for that opponent. This is a lot like saying "No offense, but...FUCK YOU!"

3) "Democrat Party?"

on edit: Tell us, John. Just when did you start using "Democrat Party?" Or have you always used that term? Was it the "Democrat Party" or the "Democratic Party" that de-funded the Vietnam War, amid Nixon's protestations of wanting "peace with honor," and brought your ass home?

9. He never used that term before, to my knowledge--
I pay attention to it, to see who's using "the code word" as a signal to the neanderthal base, and McCain is a recent convert to it--I guess he's far gone from the days of being respectful to Democrats, or that was all an act. Actually, Chuck Hagel (my Senator) is the only Republican I've heard recently that still consistently says "Democratic Party", but then he doesn't go in for those stupid games, I guess.

7. McCain deserves a fraction of the grief
that Sen. John Kerry got with regard to the taser incident.

If Kerry didn't do enough to defuse that tasering situation, then McCain added fuel to the, "Let's disrespect Hillary!" fire by doing nothing about his supporter calling Sen. Clinton a 8itch!
