Shame on you, Edwards, and thank you, Senator Dodd
For Edwards to evade the question of supporting the nominee - if s/he is not him - is a disgrace.

Here we are, on DU, keep telling everyone that we need to vote for the nominee, whoever s/he is. That it is the Supreme Court which is in the balance. That the worst candidate is better than any Republican and Edwards is ready to tell his supporters to stay home? To repeat what happened in 1968?

Senator Dodd should be applauded to ask Edwards which Republican candidate would be better than Clinton.

Edwards should understand how the Supreme Court can make a hard right turn, a turn that will not be able to correct for generation.

I regret sending those hundreds of dollars to Edwards. I want them transferred to Joe Biden.

3. YOU must be off your meds... Edwards said nothing of the kind
SHAME ON YOU.

When asked the question Edwards said he was 'not ready to talk about that now.' He even clarified that He expected to support the Democratic Nominee and he expected to be the Democratic Nominee.

You have somehow managed to twist his words to a meaning they did not have.

Edwards understands everything you accuse him of not understanding.

Sen Dodd knows that , and shame on him for a superficial attack on Edwards.

4. Keep spinning.
He cleared that up yesterday. And he didn't evade a question as to whether he would support the democratic nominee. He said he didn't want to answer regarding a specific candidate at that time and why in the hell should he? How fair would that be to the other candidates?

Edwards clarifies remarks on supporting nominee
By Klaus Marre--The Hill
Tuesday, November 13, 2007
----
Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) on Tuesday clarified a remark that some had interpreted as meaning he would not support Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) should she become the Democratic presidential nominee.

"I fully expect to support the Democratic nominee, and I fully expect to be the Democratic nominee," Edwards said Tuesday.
(...)
It is rare for any candidate seeking the nomination of their party not to pledge to support the eventual nominee. This year, a couple of Republican candidates, Reps. Ron Paul (Texas) and Tom Tancredo (Colo.), have indicated that they might not back the GOP nominee.

Is NO ONE in GD: P ever just honest anymore? Is that all there is? Ridiculous, inane, vitriolic swipes at other candidates just for the sake of doing so?

This isn't politics, it's a room full of rabid wolverines fighting over the last scrap of food. Take a deep breath, have a glass of wine, take the dog for a walk. Whatever it takes.

10. Could we knock it off about "shame?"
He's a candidate running a hard-nosed campaign. So is Hillary, so is Obama. Edwards is betting he can capitalize on anti-Clinton sentiment. I hope he can't, because I don't like that kind of politicking, but getting outraged about it is silly.

I do, however, appreciate your approval of Joe Biden. It isn't too late for him to make a splash.
