Tavis Smiley commentary on Tom Joyner show yesterday...he laid out the institutional racism Obama...
Edited on Wed Nov-14-07 09:38 AM by IndianaJones
faces daily from the media and other sources. He pointed out that Obama is the only candidate that has Secret Service protection due to hatred, the repeated butchering of his name, the lapel pin "issue", etc. It was a very powerful statement on the challenges Obama faces and the responsibility of those that recognize the pattern to step up and defend him and denounce this behavior.

Obama is not my first choice, but I agree with everything Smiley said.

5. Very true.
Look at the BS Obama is attacked on.

All are trying to say the same thing, "He is not one of us".

7. Exactly - he is rarely attacked for his platforms or policies or what he'll do as president
A significant portion of the attacks against him are about his name, where he went to school, his religion, his patriotism, his blackenoughness, his notblackenoughness, etc.

8. Besides, he needs to wait a few more years and get more
"experience". :sarcasm:
