Huckabee: Romney wants to keep people out of college to work on his lawn
OUCH!

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/11/huckabee-hits-r.html

"I guess Mitt Romney would rather keep people out of college so they can keep working on his lawn," said Huckabee while appearing on the Fox News Channel.

Huckabee's shot at Romney came when the former Arkansas governor was asked about criticism he has received from Romney for backing an unsuccessful proposal in Arkansas to offer college scholarships to the children of illegal immigrants.

The campaigns of both Romney and Fred Thompson see Huckabee's record on "tuition breaks for the children of illegal immigrants" as key to their hopes of slowing his momentum in Iowa, a state where anti-illegal immigration passions run high.

1. Huckabee wants fetuses to not be aborted so they can pick our lettuce.

3. Now, now...
after they've picked our lettuce, weeded the tomato fields, washed our cars, and bathed our children, the've got an hour or two to study for that college degree. Huck is quite the populist, you see! He's a "man of Gawd" afterall.... :eyes:

4. Actually, Huckabee has the more progressive
position on immigration.

He's wrong, and I mean WAY wrong, on a lot of issues, but he's on the right side of this debate. Anyone who stands up to immigrant-bashing gets credit.

7. Bullshit--he's totally lied and reversed himself on immigration--
he wanted cheap illegal Tyson chicken factory workers for Arkansas, and wanted the taxpayers of Arkansas to pick up the welfare tab for them. He's a snake.

8. Welfare tab? Which is it--are they being
exploited or are they welfare mooches?

10. They are being exploited. They are NOT mooches, but their needs
are unfortunately met by the rest of taxpayers, and in a poor state like Arkansas, that's a problem. He also had a Mexican consulate built in Little Rock, and made AR taxpayers pick up the tab. He's running away from this now, trying to sound all anti-amnesty like the lying pandering asshole he is (and I support a pathway to citizenship, myself).
