John Edwards To Air 1st Campaign Ad On South Carolina Television

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- John Edwards promises to stand up for American workers in a television ad to begin airing Wednesday in his native South Carolina, the first TV advertising for any of the Democratic presidential candidates.

The ad opens with Edwards walking through the overgrown parking lot of the Seneca textile mill where his father worked.

"Now it's closed, the jobs are gone. For too many, it's just about profit and greed. They're wrong," Edwards says in the 30-second spot that is to air statewide. "It's about the dignity of a job and doing what's right for America's workers."

Edwards also says the country doesn't need another president "that puts wealth above work."

2. I thought that was a great ad -

The mill was a eye opening backdrop, all covered in weeds and with over growth, somewhat of an omen of things to come if these types of jobs are continuously being shipped overseas.
