Is it not strange that Obama has not one piece of paper from his State Senate career?
I know he missed a lot of votes and voted present a lot of the time but not one piece of paper? And yet he has the audacity to go after Hillary. I have called Obana a lot of things in the past, I guess I can add something else to that list now.

1. Serious question - what do you mean by "not one piece of paper"? I don't get
it - have I missed something? Thanks.

4. He says there are no documents from his Senate career.
Wouldn't that mean not one piece of paper?

know what you were referring to. Thanks for clearing it up. :hi:

3. What kind of paper are you looking for, and who says he doesn't
have any? This is coming out of left field, so I'm just wondering if you could add some more substance to whatever it is is bothering you, besides the fact that 'he's' not 'she'.

14. Yes, I just saw that. Seems kind of nit-picky to me, comparing
a state senator's records to the wife of a president's 'papers'. He also said in the article to specify what papers they might be looking for and he'd see what he could do, so that's not exactly saying 'no' to finding any papers.

25. But what Obama's people have been saying appears to be inconsistent.
From the article at the OP:

Obama hasn't always claimed there were no papers left from his time in the state Senate. Earlier this year, campaign spokesman LaBolt asked The Associated Press to narrow a request for records on whether Obama had ever urged clemency for a convicted criminal.

"You're asking us to do an extremely exhaustive search into every record we have from the U.S. Senate and state Senate offices," LaBolt said at the time. At the news conference in Iowa last week, Obama said he didn't "have a whole bunch of records from those years," but told reporters to "let us know" if there are "particular documents that you are interested in."

______________________

First they claim they would have to do an "extremely exhaustive search" -- then they claim they don't "have a whole bunch of records." Which is it?

28. I was asking the question rhetorically, babylonsister.
This is the first time I've heard of this issue, too. And I have to say, I'm disappointed. It's just hard to believe that he didn't dump whatever he had on purpose. . . . which is his right, I suppose. But then why go after HRC the way he did?

Again, just a rhetorical question. I know you're not a mind reader.

Different Hillary supporters going after all of the candidates, or just the two who are gaining on her? I see attack after attack here, and I have only been her for less than a day. Seems that there is one supporter going after Edwards and now this one going after Obama.

Seems like they are doing a great job of attacking Obama and Edwards to keep the heat of Hillary! Seems like somebody has to "protect" her all the time! Of course I guess that's better than trying to explain her stand on the issues!

Clearly he is unsuitable for the Presidency because he is

1. too disorganized to keep track of his old papers

or

2. too anal about throwing things away to keep control of the clutter.

BTW - I heard he doesn't have his lab reports from his high school chemistry class any more either!

In the big leagues they keep records for, you know, the autobiography. And because what they do is so important people might want to know about it.

Guess it's not the same in the minors.

44. So you have two small files, but Obama has *none*?
>>While any file from Obama's time in the state Senate would be far smaller, the idea that no papers exist at all is questioned by one historian.

"Most of those guys do keep this stuff, especially the favorable stuff. They've all got egos," said Taylor Pensoneau, a historian who has written about Illinois legislators and governors and worked with them as a lobbyist for the coal industry. "It goes in scrapbooks or maybe boxes. I don't think it's normal practice to say it's all discarded."<<

Besides, aren't his voting record and legislative successes a matter of public record? It would be interesting to
see how many Senators who've come directly from long careers in state legislatures have the funds to keep
archives of their past tenure.
