If Hillary Clinton gets the nomination
and wins the presidency, I'm gonna LOVE seeing half of this board explode. It's just gonna tickle me.

I'm gonna enjoy it, I'm gonna laugh, I'm gonna really really enjoy it.

I'm gonna enjoy it the same way I loved watching the Clintons defeat Ken Starr. The way they defeated Fox news. I'm gonna just giggle my ass off.

And if she doesn't win the nomination, I will wholeheartedy support the nominee.

I don't hate her. I don't know her. But I don't trust her. She has no valid stance on the issues that matter to me. They're not even on her radar.

11. Evidently she is.
The hate directed toward Clinton here far exceeds, in both quantity and intensity, the hate directed toward any other candidate. That's simply a fact. And anyone who denies it is simply disingenuous.

23. it has more to do with the way her supposed defenders take offense ..i'm beginning to see that there
are a handful who keep the flame war alive..the defenders and the attackers keep us all distracted from the issues...i'm not buying into any of it anymore...for one thing, its upsetting..and secondly, i only run into these people these days on du ..my favorite site for political info and insight..or on msm...i dont support her..who cares..nobody...what is important is that i understand why i support my favorite candidate..and that i keep those issues at the forefront of any interaction..
there are a few recognizable disrupters on most HRC threads..now, I just scroll thru the names before I read..that seems to eliminate my blood pressure rising..

67. maybe it's because she has more hateful things to defend
over her many years.

I do not find as much hate as you insist, cali. It's mostly just questioning some of her very very questional moves and votes and choices which spurs on the Clinton supporters to start yelling and pouting and screaming rather than address the topics. You are way off on this one too, cali.

now, what name will you call me for daring to contest the great cali?

Clinton bombed Iraq for the whole of his terms. And Kosovo wasn't as a good clean american pie war that many Want to believe - it was more to do with structural adjustments and the WTO than anything.

On the day of the Columbine shooting, bill clintons words were 'and we must not let violence be our solutions.. bla bla ' (paraphasing), meanwhile, he is Bombing Belgrade as he speaks.

if she gets elected. It'll be great having a real Liberal in the WH when either Hillary, Obama, or Kucinich gets in, although it's more likely that Hillary will get it, since more and more of America is loving her every day. Either way, she'll be a great liberal president.

19. Flame-bait?
Absolutely. Really there is only one difference between the op's statements and most HRC hate flamebait. It's honesty, and unlike many Clinton detracters/haters, the author's pledge to not abandon the Democratic Party to the repugs if his chosen candidate is not nominated. And if HRC does win the nomination, the laugh will be more than justified, and deserved, in my opinion. Thanks.

20. During the lead-up to the Iraq War, Bush's handlers called all criticism Bush Hatred
Edited on Mon Nov-19-07 08:44 AM by earthlover
And all critics were called haters.

I see a lot of similarities here.

First, the assumption is that you are "either for us or against us". The Bushies thought if you didn't support iraq, you were for the terrorists. Hillary supporters seem to be saying if you don't support Hillary, you are supporting the Republicans. Same kool aid, different flavor.

Those who do not want to see Hillary nominated are NOT wanting to help the Reps. In fact, many/most don't support her BECAUSE the DO NOT want a Republican victory and see a Hillary nomination as the riskiest of our possible choices.

It is all well and good to look forward to being vindictive and gloat if she wins and go back to the Democrats who wanted a stronger candidate and shove it in their faces, which is the fantasy of the OP. But this is not the only outcome. It is also possible that, in spite of all the shouting that we will win no matter who is the nominee and gloating that Hiollary is inevitable, the Reps could still win. In this case, I don't see anyone going to be gloating around here. It would be a squandered opportunity of historic proportions. We SHOULD win in 08. Not only that, we SHOULD make significant gains in both houses of Congress. It SHOULD be a transformational election that could bring Democratic majorities for years to come. Or we could blow it all by nominating the one candidate who could possibly lose. And that would be Hillary. No, I promise not to gloat if Hillary loses. I will be too depressed at eight more years of rule by idiots.

If Hillary wins, it would be by the closest of margins. Probably only a point or two. No coat tails. No significant change in Congress, which would still be able to filibuster major legislation. A continued polarization of our society as the media continue the Hillary Flame Wars during her administration. Sorry, but this I see as the best-case scenario for a Hillary "victory" and it isn't nearly as good an outcome as what would happen if any other Democrat is nominated.

for proving my point with your opening statement.

"The Bushies thought if you didn't support iraq, you were for the terrorists. Hillary supporters seem to be saying if you don't support Hillary, you are supporting the Republicans. Same kool aid, different flavor."

If you are talking about the nomination process, your statement is patently false, and proof that nothing is beyond HRC haters. If you are talking about the General election, then the statement is not only appropriate, but patently true. If you do not support the dem nominee, regardless of who it is, then yes, you are aiding the repugs in their quest for four more years of misery. Nice try though. Thanks.

I don't envy anyone who wins the Whitehouse. In Hillary's case, there are those who have such strong feelings against her that they will watch her every move, waiting to trip her up.

Just what is it about Hillary that engenders such enmity? I must admit that she is not my favorite....just about last choice as a matter of fact. Heaven knows how much this bothers me but no matter how hard, I can't bring myself to favor her.

For myself, I gave up on her when she voted to give DimSon the power to wage illegal war in 2002, then threw Kerry under the campaign bus (in tandem with Schumer) in 2004. I just have no respect for her.

Even if I actually WANTED to vote for a Republican, I STILL couldn't bring myself to cast a ballot for her.

47. Wrong again! Shhh... Most would be saying "told you so!"
Picture the Bush administration.

Hillary will outsource you job, break up unions, and bring in illegal and legal (visa) immigrants. And as Spitzer said illegal immigrant drivers licenses are a federal thing as he changed his mind (which Hillary was the first one he told)Hillary will make it a federal thing if she gets in. Oh and the flip flopping of how many times 5? 3? Yeah that's right FIVE TIMES! OMG! Rudy would luv that.

And if you don't want change from corruption then vote for Hillary.

I notice most on this board bash other candidates and never talk about the issues of Hillary. The same thing Hillary does when she keeps saying no mud slinging.

This just touches the surface of how dirty Hillary is. But I'll leave you with this. She said "Having been in the White House, I know that Saddam Hussein has weapons of mass destruction."

And it's all over the net, so do your own googling.

48. If she wins the presidency, 90% will laugh with you.
Otherwise 99% here will cry. I couldn't blame people for the comtempt they would feel if Clinton won the nomination and lost the GE. There's going to be a lot of "I told you so."

54. All Of The Special Interest Groups/Industries
that funded her campaign will laugh all the way to the bank, or breathe a sigh of relief that a corporate democrat, who is at the very least sympathetic to their agenda, is in office rather than a populist.

Assuming they haven't already starting laughing...

69. Lots of repukes say that, too. Maybe you & some of them can go to Canada & share a condo (Snicker)
Hey, just trying to save you a few bucks when you move. It's expensive up there so splitting the expenses of a condo might not be a bad idea.

61. i'll file this in the same folder with "Gore will not win the Nobel Prize"
"And if she doesn't win the nomination, I will wholeheartedy support the nominee."

Will you eat that shit sandwich you're shopping around to the rest of us then as well?

63. Huh?
What are you going on about?

I'm not predicting anything in this thread. I'm saying IF she wins the nomination, I'll be gleeful.

And did you remember the other prediction I made in the Nobel thread? So far, that one's spot-on.

People here predict stuff every day. Some even predict Kucinich will be the nominee. Do you stalk them, too?

85. "I'm not predicting anything in this thread" I guess monkeys can learn from mistakes.
You've carefully parsed your words this time so you can't be held to account for your words.

"And did you remember the other prediction I made in the Nobel thread? So far, that one's spot-on."

Actually, a prediction cannot be 'spot-on' until it comes true. Until then it is just an opinion.

62. If Hillary wins the nomination
I'll be excited as well,, it will be a significant point in history having a woman as the nominee. Next , having a woman elected. This is important to the fabric of this country.

First things first though; she has to win or do well in Iowa and New Hampshire.

I won't re- state why I don't support her as a primary candidate.

We saw a catalog with a Hillary nutcracker.

We will mail it to a former acquaintance who finally stopped emailing me all the anti-Hillary and anti-Ted Kennedy vulgar "jokes."

79. If Sen. Clinton wins the Presidency, I, too, will be happy.
Happy that we will be getting a short respite between Bushie Vampirism.

Happy that we will probably be receiving a few benefits and that our economy might be somewhat and temporarily healed. The environment will also get a short rest from the plunder and carnage, but only a slight one.

But I will expect NOTHING from Sen. Clinton on any of the improtanat problems that are facing our nation, which is literally the loss of our System of Checks and Balances, not to mention the privatization of our voting system which has taken away any validity it once had.

I will expect NOTHING from Sen. Clinton on the front of prosecuting the worst State Crminals America has ever seen, the Bushies, who easily outstrip even Aaron Burr and make Nixon's Felonious Bunch look like some disorganized Girl Scout.

And after four or perhaps eight (unlikely) years of this "resty", in whichthe status quo moves not a millimeter and all Bushie Crminals go free free free, I expect the next Royal Bushie will come and pick up right where they left off.

But I will vote for Sen. Clinton, because a rest from vampirism is a rest from vampirism.

80. What will you do in November when a Clinton run
ends in defeat, and we have a Republican president?

Of all the Democratic candidates, she is the least electable against the Republicans, IMO.

84. Even if she wins the GE, we will have a Republican President.
Republican-Lite is STILL Republican.

If ANY of the other nominees wins the nomintion, they will have the support of pretty much the entire Democratic Party.

If HRC wins, she will not. It's a no-brainer.

She's NOT getting MY vote, either.

83. that's nice...
got it off your system...all of it? Good...now let's get back to real stuff.

Like supporting candidates that are unequivocal on wars, aggressive foreign policy, standing for the constitution, getting us to invest in alternative energy, and universal health care.

Hillary's falling short on that...and that's what I'm looking for in my candidate.

we'd WANT her to win the presidency. We just think it will be much harder for HER to win the presidency than others.
