Tom Delay says he "would like to bitchslap" Paul Krugman. Says Hillary will be next president
Edited on Tue Nov-20-07 09:25 PM by antiimperialist
Speaking for the blog "yeas and nays", Tom Delay said, among other things, the following:

(about the GOP):"They're looking for some backbone," said DeLay, who also chimed in on the 2008 election. He said the Republican party is "going to get our clocks cleaned in 2008" and unequivocally said that "Hillary will be the next president." Which ought to give DeLay’s newest projects, the Coalition for a Conservative Majority and a consulting firm called First Principles, LLC, plenty to do.

But, lest you think that The Hammer is about to start playing for the other team, he did poke fun at New York Times columnist -- and favorite conservative punching bag -- Paul Krugman: "I'd like to bitch-slap him." DeLay also ruled out another stab at politics, even if GOP fortunes reverse: "I'm 60 years old, I'm through."

3. The Bugman would love to fight
but he'd find that too many "minority youths" had volunteered to bitch-slap Krugman and there'd be no room for "patriotic" folks like him.

4. Thats the kind of thing Delay would say.
I hope Delay ends up with a big prison roomate who tapes a pinup on the back of his head.

Praise the Lord Jesus for his humble and devoted servant, Tom Delay, who speaks for Jesus to the world.

11. Why?
Because they aren't corporatists like Hillary? Because they care about the poor, rather than implementing "welfare reform" that destroyed the safety net?

And how the hell would either Edwards or Obama's people convince Tom DeLay to say something to further THEIR campaigns?

I don't know what you're smoking, but I hope you drop it into the ashtray before your state's primary (or caucus).

18. I'm pretty sure Tom DeLay is not in any Democratic camp.
For right now he's pretty much with himself.

I don't sense a significant constituency clamoring to have him around at all, let alone affiliated with any campaign.

13. Tom Delay is one of the most repulsive Republicans in history, & that's saying something.
Even in this case he's thriving on the tactic of fear. Pasty faced asshole.

14. That's interesting.
He didn't say that Hillary will be the nominee, he said that she would be the next President. Why? What possible reason would Delay have for this?

17. IMO, DeLay isn't through in politics because he's 60; he's through because he's
a toxin-slurping maggot who corrupts everything he touches.

The man is a disgrace.

I'd read Krugman's column any day the papers runs it. He's a good man.
