Lou Dobbs thinking about running for President?
Give me a break! Does he think he has the "middle class" vote sewn up?!

1. Dan Abrams just had some fun with this one...

...saying "nobody takes Lou Dobbs as seriously as Lou Dobbs." Supposedly Dobbs had said that the network execs were worried he was running for prez ~ so he came out to say he is not running.

(But I did hear LD say on Larry King that some Indie was probably going to run ~ who knows what he was talking about?! I've had a feeling that an Indie, though not Dobbs, was still going to get in. Thought maybe he had a scoop on someone.)

2. There must be some kind of whisper campaign to persuade him to run.
There were two callers on cspan last week wanting Lou Dobbs to run. :eyes:

4. Who cares?
Dobbs would win over all those who think both the far right and far left have gone...well...too far. And Lord knows he'd win over the majority of Americans who are sick and tired of illegal immigration.

Not that I'd vote for him (Edwards is my candidate!), but just the concept of a Dobbs candidacy would shake the hell out of both parties, and make them realize they can't ignore the middle class anymore. That'd be a good way to teach the Repukes AND the DLC not to ignore the backbone of America. It would also teach both sides that they'd better secure our borders, too.

Dobbs would never win, but if he woke up both parties, and let them know they don't have a stranglehold on America, that would be a good thing. Make these bastards work for our votes by representing WE THE PEOPLE, instead of their own personal ideologies.

5. I agree that both parties need someone to shake them up...
It really is the perfect time for an Indie with a middle class following to step up ~ I would vote for a progressive problem-solving Indie before some of these Dems.
