Actually this was one of the most courteous interviews I have heard from anyone in Denver. Thoughtful questions, respectful. I think Fox will be the outlet there for the convention, so I guess an interview like this is a good sign.
Denver's Fox 31 discusses the 2008 convention with Howard DeanNo transcript but a few notes.
He would make no comment about individual candidates, made it clear he considered all of them viable.
Said for 2008 the Democratic party system is no longer candidate based, that there is an on the ground base in place in each state.
Asked why we lost for so long. Said Republicans were very good at winning.
Asked if the Democrats needed a Karl Rove, he said no. He was too divisive...good at winning but very bad for the country.
Said Democrats would not "fiddle around" with the ballot box to win.
Anchor asked him how it felt in 04 to have come so close to winning. He asked if he felt like Gore must have felt. Dean made it clear that Al Gore came a whole lot closer, in fact he said he won.
Very good interview.
