Poll question: Mike Malloy or Randi Rhodes?
Which do you prefer?

5. Well, they weren't in the poll, were they?
Kinda like bringing your own 2-liter of RC Cola to a Pepsi/Coke taste challenge.

2. I vote Mike.
His way of dealing with anger and frustration is not to everyone's taste, but to me it's very theraputic to listen to him go off on stupid stuff. :)

18. The best one
was the time he strung along this right wing fundy making the guy think he - Mike - was on his side. Oh man it was cruel but oh so damn funny.

19. My fave:
Freeper calls in and says "freedom isn't free. People gotta die so we can have freedom." Mike had me crying with laughter, but I think the caller was crying for another reason lolol.

7. Sam Seder...
Edited on Thu Nov-22-07 03:50 PM by hlthe2b
Both Malloy and Rhodes are fine in smaller doses, but my BP goes too high if I overdose on either of them. They can be so strident, though their passion is certainly appreciated.

Sam is a delightful combination of humor, obvious intellect, and balanced perspective. I adore him, as I do Bobby Kennedy, Jr, Mike Papantonio, Thom Hartman, and the vibrant Rachel Maddow.

wish they'd give him her job.

8. Sam Seder and Rachel Maddow :-D
but if forced to choose... it'd be tough.

Randi has really become even more full of herself lately, IMO.

Mike Malloy interacts better with callers... so

Malloy.

But only if I can't have Sam or Rachel.

14. I love them all on the left!
There aren't any to my knowledge that I hate. Randi can be rude and loud to her callers. I don't like that. But she is interesting, and extremely informative and she is the real deal..what you see is what you get. The rest of the pack-I love them all...It would be hard for me to pick the best..although I would have to say Bernie Ward is my favorite and Randi probably number 2. Guy James is the one who is extremely underrated and deserves his own syndicated talk show (and a decent salary!)

16. Welcome LR I'm with you
I enjoy them all, each for different reasons. They all have their problems as well as their strengths. I will admit that I haven't given much time to Shultz to give an honest evaluation. There was always something better on at the time. I'm curious why I haven't seen names like Laura Flanders, Peter Werbe, P. B. Collins, Ian Masters, Chuck Mertz, or Blase Bonpane in threads like these.

31. Well there isn't enough time in a day is there?
Edited on Sun Nov-25-07 02:49 PM by Liberals Rule
To listen to them all.. Here's my day:
I get up in the mornings when I am off(I work graveyard) and start my day putting my computer on liberal talk radio, starting out with Stephanie Miller, Then Thom Hartman and Randi Rhodes. Then I take a 2-3 break then come back and listen to Mike Malloy. At Midnight my time, I put on the Lion on the Left, Uncle Bernie Ward, followed by Ray Taliaferro. Of course I have to sleep sometime & go to work! But I catch em as much and as often as I can!

Thank God for Liberal Talk Radio!

24. Senator Kathrine Harris
As she demands to be called by "tititular right."

Sam had her on while subbing for Randi Rhodes the other day for a quite extended bit. Claimed a woman couldn't be president, and that the highest office she could obtain was "bride of Christ." Hysterical.

Who does this for him? She's amazing, dead-on in capturing the looniness of Harris and others (though I think Harris' own loony Christianity is fake).

29. Randi is smart and I've learned a lot from her, but I prefer Malloy...
Randi spends a lot of time talking about her dog, which celebrities she's been hanging around with, things happening in her life ("Randi Blogging"). Some people might like that kind of stuff (makes them feel like they know the broadcaster, maybe?) but I don't like it.

I like red meat. When I listen to Air America, I want to hear political talk radio. I want to hear about current events. I want to hear smart political analysis of current events.

My favorite liberal talk radio hosts, in approximate order from highest to lowest (excluding ones I've never heard):

Sam Seder
Ring of Fire (RJK Jr and Mike Pappantonio)
Mike Malloy
Marc Maron (part timer)
Rachel Maddow (lose the sports, please)
Thom Hartmann (good but too much Ayn Rand crap)
Randi Rhodes
Mark Riley
Alan Colmes
Richard Greene
Jon Elliott
Richard Bey
Lionel
