Seriously people, Biden is in single digits and tied with Rudy & Mitt...doesn't that say anything
about our frontrunners not doing much better than Biden...who is still 30% unknown.

Think about that for a minute.

Democratic Senator Joe Biden isn't on the map of the Democratic nomination race. And almost 30% of likely voters nationwide don’t know enough to have an opinion of him. But a new Rasmussen Reports survey shows Biden within two points of the GOP national frontrunner and tied with the Republican leader in New Hampshire.

1. It is not a year for goppers.
Biden would do well in the general. He may surprise us in the primary.

But, the country does not want a pub, any pub.

8. But They Don't Want Any of Our Candidates Even More Than They Don't Want a Pub
Biden supporters are taking comfort in the fact that our frontrunners are polling almost as badly against The Ghoul as Biden is.
That doesn't change the fact that ALL of our candidates are LOSING to The Ghoul in the polls.

What's up with that?
What is going to happen to change that?

17. Sen. Biden is doing nearly as good as the front runners against Repubs
and yet 30% of the people barely know who he is. Rest assured that 30% know who the 3 front runners are. Bodes well for Sen. Biden.

2. And it gets better. That poll has very high undecideds, based on lack of information, and
Biden would gain more from the undecided pool than any other candidate, because he's an old white guy who is funny and interesting and can talk tough as nails when he wants to.

He's like the president in a movie... little to turn casual voters off. (His verbosity will not be an issue to the casual voter because the casual voter only sees ads and sound-bites)

I have no doubt that he would garner more positives than negatives from the undecided pool. (Most Dems will get about half the undecided pool, IMO)

3. I can't help but wonder what that number would be if the msm spent more time talking about him.
It would probably be even higher.

4. Very good post on insight and strategy.
Strong on points, too.

For me it suggests that the Pukes' leaders right now aren't likely to be leaders a month from now, and as far as Biden's polling is concerned, if the media were fair (fat chance!) ... but IF they were fair in coverage of all candidates, then the candidates' message would be conveyed in more equitable distribution.

That would favor Joe Biden on international policy, which is a point made repeatedly (and accurately), but matters more each hour because for Bush's first term it's unlikely he knew where Iraq was on a map and in the second term, he couldn't even locate New Orleans, let alone the Middle East.

6. Joe Biden
I like him, and even met him a couple years ago at the New School in NYC, where he gave a talk. However before you go all gaga over Joe, remember, he has skeletons also and comes from the most corporate state in the union. Still better then any rethug. and preferable to some dems. I just hope we can get any of our candidates into office.

9. We're all aware of his "skeletons"...
and most of them are bogus. I have no fear that, given the facts, people would dismiss them all.

10. His "skeletons" are actually mostly votes people disagree with rather than
actual scandals. The one that might qualify as a scandal has pretty much been discredited. No affairs, no toilet stall tapping, no payola, no association with questionable people, stuff like that, so all in all he's clean. And to their credit, I believe that's true for most of our candidates. Isn't that a good feeling? :)

7. Personally I would feel more comfortable with Biden
running this country than any of the other candidates. Our country is in trouble and we need someone who is capable and can think creatively. The only possible candidates I would like as well or better than him are Gore and Bill Bradley.

12. Sure does. The M$M and Pollsters are full of it.
If the M&M and polling companies haven't lost all credibility with every DU'er already, there is little hope for change via the election.

that suggest people might well be in for a surprise on Caucus night....like this one;

Joe Biden Visits Albia

Joe Biden paid us a visit today in Albia. Here's a photo of him with my son, Aidan, and my wife, Steva.

The Delaware Senator is working very hard to break into the top tier, and if he can continue to connect with one voter at a time like he did today, he will get there soon.

Biden is very good at connecting with people in these small settings. It's events like this when he has the time he needs to go into great detail about his views on major issues. His deep experience really shines through.

As I've written on this blog before, I believe Biden is going to be one candidate that will surprise people on caucus night.

Frankly, I pay more attention to people in Iowa, and what they are saying, than I do the polls...I go to their blogs, read their papers, etc. and I see what those with independent thoughts are saying. Add them all together, and it's pretty telling...I don't pay attention to the surafce stuff...the undercurrents are the most telling.

19. Not sure I follow this response..
Are you saying we have a nominee, or suggesting we have a presumptive nominee, or that none but the "front runners" deserve a look.. Or am I misinterpreting all the way around :-)

20. I disagree. I do think Democrats care which Democrat is their nominee.
Not all candidates are created equal. There are two primary differences Democrats are looking at: 1.) electability, and 2.)how they believe the candidates will do as president. This poll shows that Biden does as good against the Republican front runners as the Democratic front runners, yet 30% of the people polled don't know enough about Biden to form an opinion on him, but that 30% know the top 3 Democratic candidates. The momentum is in Biden's favor.

22. I so don't want this thing to be all over before enough of us get
a chance to vote.

I really dislike this touting of "front-runners" and the inevitability of one of them getting the nomination.

I like Biden. He's awfully smart. He'd make a good president, I think.

OTOH, any of our candidates would be vastly superior to any of the GOP's.
