Watching the Repug debate, I'm frankly scared for this country's future

I find Ron Paul to be the most entertaining of all of them. He is unacceptable for a number of reasons, but he is clearly the only sane one on the stage. He has no chance of ever being the nominee.

Watching the YouTube questions is disturbing. Watching the ads the candidates are running is a combination of juvenile ignorance and woefully least-common denominator jingoistic stupidity.

The Fear Machine that Bush has created has spawned even more fear and ignorance where these men running for President feel that the American Spirit is nothing more than the thoughts and actions of schoolyard bullies.

To think that there are people out there that find any of these characters worthy of being President is scary. I've seen Presidential races since the 1980s and this latest crop is clearly the oddest, most dripping with hate and despicable in my memory.

McCain has gone off the deep end, but Romney on don't ask don't tell, and Thompson (I can't recall the issue) actually took positions that were liberal just 15 years ago. It does show some progress that things are somewhat getting through.

It reminds me of one of the best lines I saw written regarding Liberal Media Bias, specifically as it relates to Hollywood and movies. The writer said righties always complain about Conservatives being the heavies in movies. It is not a liberal bias it is because when movies are made 10 - 20 years after an event the conservatives look bad because they were so fucking wrong.

The GOP uses a script designed to elicit decades of conditioned responses. The response and revulsion they elicit in me is similar to response I have for Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot. Make no mistake all are capable of being maybe more subtle monsters, but monsters none the less.

This Mad Christian Disease has infected our country to the point of fatality. I find it to be the most destructive force operating in our nation. It operates from a base of fear, loathing & guilt. Yes these people are scary, but we all need to realize that most people pay very little attention, they aren't political junkies and they are just wired different. It has been discussed numerous times how fear can motivate people and it seems to be that it works. Last month during the fires out here the sheriffs department came through three hours after the fires had passed and announced that we should evacuate. By this time all the hills and canyons had burned within at least a mile from the houses. A neighbor ran down and asked did I hear that. I responded everything that can burn has burned, (you literally could walk out the front door and come to the logical conclusion, no brush left, fire out, even with a minor flare up nothing that a hose couldn't knock down in a minute) he responded "but the sheriffs said we should leave." (is should be noted that no sheriffs were around during the fire)
I started to try to use logic, then figured screw it and responded yup, you better leave. These same neighbors also stocked up on the duct tape and visqueen after 911. So you can guess who these people voted for in 2000 and 2004 and they will vote for one of these guys, because they stand up there and tell the followers that they will keep them safe from those crazy Terrorists.

As for the Neighbors, I live in Orange County, so the sheep mentality is alive and well.

I've met a lot of your supporters online, but I've noticed that a good number of them seem to buy into this conspiracy theory regarding the Council of Foreign Relations, and some plan to make a North American union by merging the United States with Canada and Mexico.

These supporters of yours seem to think that you also believe in this theory. So my question to you is: Do you really believe in all this, or are people just putting words in your mouth?

Ron Paul was asked about the North American Union (Conspiracy) so when was his opportunity to deny that he disagreed with them. He has already done this many times before... CFR... The Trilateral Commission (the questioner brought it up) is not a fictional organizations. It is is real and pushes an interventionist/establishment agenda. Ron Paul simply pointed that out. He specifically rejected the idea that the Organizations was part of a hidden conspiracy. It was a perfectly reasonable answer.

Do people honestly think Ron Paul is a kook because the caller thinks this is all a conspiracy started by the Ron Paul camp? Oh my! The media and their agenda is so transparent.

He had the least time of any other candidate. The first time he spoke came almost 45 minutes into the debate. If you combine the time Dennis and Ron receive they would be behind the media darlings on either side... Dem or Repub.

I'm surprised they didn't plant this question for Ron. Tell us, Dr. Paul, when did you stop eating babies as one other DUer said? Another good one would've been... Dr. Paul, Do little green men visit you and talk about the billburgers, build a burger or whatever you call that group?

About the conspiracy question. Out of thousand of questions, they pick this?! I happen to agree with him here. He didn’t say there was a conspiracy, but there were people with a shared agenda that is at odds with the principles on which America was founded. Do you disagree? But still, the choice of this question seems designed to marginalize him. Just like the establishment is doing to Dennis.
