Edwards Campaign Statement on Romney "Two Americas" Attack in GOP Debate
John Edwards for President
Wednesday, November 28, 2007 11:16 PM

----
Chapel Hill, North Carolina – Today, John Edwards for President communications director Chris Kofinis released the following statement in response to the attack on Senator Edwards in tonight's GOP debate by Governor Mitt Romney:

"In the debate tonight, Governor Romney was caught being deceptive about his own record. He is also being deceptive about whether there are two Americas – one for the most powerful and one for everyone else. News flash, Governor: The 98% of Americans who were not born to great wealth or who have not been given special privilege in our country struggle every day to make ends meet and provide opportunities for their families. No small part of their struggle is because the game has been rigged to protect those on top. It is not surprising Governor Romney proposes additional policies to assist the crowd on Easy Street. Unfortunately for him, the millions of Americans who live and work on Main Street know much more about the reality of where we are as a country."

1. It was clear that Romney was utterly clueless about what Edwards meant
by that!

20. I think Romney knows exactly what Edwards means when he speaks

of two Americas. It's a plan by the GOP to create two Americas, and, now, to maintain it.
Leo Strauss, who these guys study, promoted the idea of a ruling class, whose obligation it is to lie for the good of the country.

2. Rapid was my thought exactly.
I'd love to see Romey in the GE. Another pug who's had everything handed to him up against a self made guy like Edwards. We'd wipe up the floor with the fool.

Ready for work.

4. One of the GOp Focus Group Members--Republican is
leaning more and more for Edwards. There is a reason the GOP attack
Edwards and his two Americas. Grassroots Republicans are beginning
to awaken and really understand that the GOP has Business Interest
over their (grassroots interests)

11. He's fucked up on Health Care. He really has.
Edited on Thu Nov-29-07 01:38 AM by lamprey
Interest and Collection charges raise the whole specter of the IRS. What was wrong with saying "a limited charge"? A straightforward of avenue of appeal in cases of hardship? He needs to separate collection from heavy handed bureaucracy. Everyone has experience with the IRS. Everyone. Thats what people think when they think collection. Any suggestion of health tax evasion has to be avoided. It's not a back down. There's nothing wrong with listening to the people.

He should repeat: "No fines" "No penalties" ad infinitum.

16. I was kinda thinking his
hair was a bit on the fragile, plastic side myself....like if you touch it, it would snap. Just envision the 80's and all the hair-sprayed bangs.....maybe not, the 80's fashion is not somewhere I want to revist..:)
