Edward's new website targets Hillary
Edwards Starts Web Site Targeting Clinton
Christopher Cooper reports on the presidential campaign.

Former North Carolina Sen. and Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards launched a Web site today that takes a cloaked strike at front-runner Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Called “America Belongs to Us,” the site is essentially a petition seeking one million voters who promise to withhold their vote for any candidate who “accepts campaign contributions from Washington lobbyists’’ and lobbyist political action committees.

2. Didn't see Clinton's
name anywhere on the site. But I certainly signed the petition.

Is she the only one accepting campaign contributions from Washington lobbyists?

4. Students in Iowa to Be Purposefully Disenfranchised by Jan 3rd Caucus Date!
Hey folks what about the students? Florida was a fake, a distraction. The fuss about the primary dates was ALL ABOUT IOWA!

So Much for the Student Vote:mad:

http://www.creators.com/opinion/susan-estrich.html

College students won't be voting in the Iowa caucus this year. Or, at least, most of those who would have won't now, and those who still can might not know about it yet. No matter how you look at it, it's a mess. The problem is the calendar. …more at link above

So which candidate in IA does this hurt the most?

Edwards??? or Obama???

and many other ways...they made it hard for students in OH in 2004 by placing enough voting machines for only 1/3 of the students to vote! The lines were forever, students passed out...remember? The media did not show it...

Remember Florida A & M University in 2000? Same thing here. All those responsible by either inaction or actions taken to move up primary dates in Florida , Michigan and elsewhere is responsible. State party chairs of these states need to be held accountable it would seem? :hide:

Students which one of you is going to step up and sue the DNC et al in a class action over this? :nuke:

7. Quote from article...
http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2007/11/28/edwards-starts-web-site-targeting-clinton/
"The target is clear: Of the three leading Democrats — Edwards, Clinton and Illinois Sen. Barack Obama — only Clinton has refused to turn down special-interest money".

3. 'Outrage of the day'
does seem a little ... tabloid. This campaign seems in danger of becoming a caricature of itself. Righteous anger is a tonic for the troops maybe?

6. You aren't outraged?
Lobbyists have taken control in Washington and America’s hard-working families pay the price. They've stopped universal health care. They've secured unfair and unsafe trade deals that have cost America good middle-class jobs. They've left our children at risk from unsafe toys. They've sabotaged clean energy legislation that would address global warming. And they've squashed efforts for cheaper generic prescription drugs. Enough is enough. America belongs to us.

What more will it take?

12. Has he released any information on his bundled money?
Edited on Thu Nov-29-07 01:00 PM by seasonedblue
On edit/

He released names, but not the amount of their donations:

"Edwards released a list of 669 "solicitors" through the first three quarters of 2007. He releases the names of everyone who has collected money, regardless of amount.

Clinton, on the other hand, releases only those who have raised at least $100,000. So far 320 people, whom she calls HillRaisers, have done so. Obama identifies those who have raised $50,000, or 354 people for the first three quarters of the year. The tally was compiled by Public Citizen.

"This is 100 percent about transparency and electing someone who is open and honest to the presidency; that's why we, unlike our opponents, release the names of everyone who fundraises for Senator Edwards," his spokeswoman, Colleen Murray, said.

Lincoln disagrees with Edwards' characterization of full disclosure because he does not reveal how much money each person is responsible for.

"You can disclose nobody or disclose everybody -- they're two different ways of being opaque," he said."
