Biden: One of top 3 Dems will fall in Iowa
Des Moines Register: Biden: One of top 3 Dems will fall

Delaware Sen. Joe Biden expressed confidence today that at least one of the second-tier Democratic candidates — himself included — will finish near the top in the upcoming Iowa caucuses. “I think one of us is going to end up supplanting one of the so-called top-tier candidates, I think ,if you take a look, you give us each sort of our day, our time in the barrel to see if we rise up,” he said.

Biden cited stalled poll numbers and “soft” support for front-runner candidates Sens. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards, adding that potential caucusgoers who take a closer look will make a difference as to whether he, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson or Sen. Chris Dodd claw their way to the top.

“What’s happened is, the top tier’s frozen. Nothing’s moving. They’ve spent millions of dollars and nothing’s moving. I think it’s about people are still looking at that top tier, and whether they want to stay there.”

Biden made his remarks during the taping of “Iowa Press,” an Iowa Public Television program that airs at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Biden said his campaign is virtually sunk if he doesn’t finish within the top three at the Iowa caucuses, but added that the same applies to those far ahead of him in the polls. A Washington Post-ABC News Iowa poll this month revealed Biden in fifth place at 4 percent. Clinton is the only candidate who likely could survive a fourth-place or lower finish, he said....

9. I totally agree and of the 3, edwards with all his time and money
spent in iowa will place third and that will not bode well for him. HRC will win by 3 1/2%. Then on to NH and the ball was starting gaining mo and by the middle of February will most likely have a majority of delegates to be OUR nominee.

5. I think he is correct.
I would like to
see Biden be one
of the ones that
rises up. I would
not be surprised to
see Dodd rise up either.

10. uh, Edwards hasn't spent "millions"
Biden ought not count his chickens before thier hatched, Biden needs to break 15% in more than a few counties to break out

11. It doesn't matter how much the candidate has spent...
this is not a race about who spent the most money. People of Iowa know that.

13. I agree
At least one of The Big Three will drop below 3rd in Iowa and one or two of The Next Three will rise.

And I believe that realignment is a big reason for that.

14. I think Joe has a great chance of moving up, people are really starting
to become interested in what he has to say. After watching last nights debate, we could run Homer Simpson and ....well you know...
