Obama spoke in Harlem last night and then had "coffee" and a meeting with Bloomberg today...
Edited on Fri Nov-30-07 12:57 PM by jenmito
Chris Lawrence, CNN reporter who was there, said Obama changed MORE than a few minds last night. Obama promised as president he'd have a civil rights division that will investigate crimes like those in Jena. He said there's a tremendous amount of good will for Obama and thinks the numbers can EASILY flip (among Black people's support of Hillary vs. Obama). :D

:D

On Edit: I really like these parts of _this article_:

"I trust him," said Harlem resident Angela Dews. "Hillary is slick. Democrats are taking us for granted."

and

By having breakfast with Obama, Bloomberg is doing what he said he would do while not running for president and dropping his Republican party affiliation: he is injecting himself into the national dialogue to try to influence the debate.

"I am going to speak out on those issues," Bloomberg said in June. "By not being affiliated with a party I think I'm going to have a better opportunity to do that."

Obama "is a person who is not only setting policy in the senate, he's also one of the handful of people who are shaping the national debate," Loeser said.

A spokesman for Obama, Robert Gibbs, said the men share a similar view: that Washington has been consumed by partisan politics.

GObama!

2. He's going into Clinton territory and people are just getting to know him and liking what they see
and hear. I think he's going to end up winning the whole enchilada!

4. He had dinner last night with Sharpton at Sylvia's. Remember the last
person we heard about having dinner with Sharpton at Sylvia's?

I don't think Obama had the same response as the other person. Of course, I'm sure it wasn't his first time there. :)

and knives and stuff! I'm sure it was a different experience with Obama.

Waiters who can serve it in the office!

I'm not saying it means what it's being taken to mean, but there is certainly some purpose at hand.

10. Talk about being in a goldfish bowl!
I imagine if they'd wanted to squash speculation and keep their meeting private, they could have had breakfast someplace else, eh? :D

You'd better believe that there's a reason for the picture window. I'm just surprised that no one hired a lip reader to catch the conversation.

19. Was there ever any question where the AA vote would go ?
I think not.....and a win in Iowa will energize and add upwards of a million new voters in the community.

Mark my words.
