1. That's expected among progressives I think
It's generally disheartened progressives going for Edwards because they consider it being more pragamatic than practicing democracy and voting for the preson they actually want.

5. Hi there.
I want you to know Edwards is no way my second choice. He is my number one. He is the person I actually want. And have wanted him for years.

But I do like DK, what about this bat shit crazy Ron Paul stuff though?

6. I shouldn't have generalized, and I apologize to you
Do you live in Berkeley or something and just can't tolerate any Republican? I live in a deep red state and I can't just call every Republican here crazy. Ron Paul would end American imperialism and at least protect our Constitution, which is what makes him attractive to many people -- and Dennis wouldn't have been smart to piss off his grassroots base. There's nothing crazy about that, it's politics.

8. LOL,
Welcome, my young friend, to DU. And no I don't live in Berkeley, but I did indeed spend some time there.

Ron Paul would also end the Dept. of Education, choice for our sisters, and he would privatize everything he could get his hands on.

That being said, I'm so glad to have you here with us. We're all on the same side here in the long run.

10. He wouldn't be able to do any of that
Congress wouldn't let him do any of that. Especially not as VP.

I think Dennis was throwing around the idea because he's an intelligent normal person who sometimes has gaffes and says things honestly, and any honest person can say just about anything. Everything that comes out of the frontrunners' mouths is stage-managed. I talked to Dennis myself 2 weeks ago. The guy's an ordinary person and will sometimes just say things, think out loud.

11. I love DK.
With my limited funds, I even gave some money to his campaign. Honestly, I love Dennis, but I hate Ron Paul more. I believe Ron Pauls ideas are dangerous, and while I have some friends 'on the other side' as some would say, none of them are as nuts as Ron Paul.

My other take, is as a Dem, I need a Progressive that can win. For my money, that's John Edwards.

But in all sincerity, thanks for chatting with me. I was starting to think there were no 'YoungDUer's' out there at all. You truly give me Democratic hope.

Keep up the good work for whoever you believe in. It does matter.

13. i wish you luck
I met elizabeth edwards a few months ago; I wrote about it for a paper we started up here called Stand Up, which you can read here: http://standupuga.org/PDFs/Issue1.pdf (I'm Zaid and my friend Daniel got a pic with John).

I hope John if he wins does pursue a truly progressive path, but I'm somewhat cynical about it. But you and I want the same things I feel.

18. Thats what most people dont see or dont want to see.
If Ron Paul were DK's VP, he wouldn't just be given free range to do whatever he wanted? Those two together would certainly be the strongest team to fight the current takeover by the elite. I think its too late though, we Americans lack common sense and don't see what is taking place right in front of our eyes and has been going on for a long time. The scariest part of all, is the fact that every since their monkey took over, the attack has sped up. They either realize that as a people we are blind or they see a trend of people waking up and more protests happening.

I cant wait to see how it all unfolds.

19. I think you picked an appropriate screen name
"He wouldn't be able to do any of that" Two words -- Dick Cheney.

Young. And obviously not paying much attention the past 7 years. :eyes:

12. And one more thing,
Buddy, you never have to apologize to me. There was no insult there at all.

I'm proud to have you, as a young Dem, on our side!

16. It was a call in poll on his radio show
Edited on Fri Nov-30-07 02:50 PM by Kucinich4America
So it's not "freeped". You need an actual telephone to participate. Theoretically, you might be able to vote twice if you called from a landline and a cell, I guess.

Thom has been doing these polls every Friday, and the results don't seem to vary that much. It's usually either Edwards or Kucinich winning, with a big gap after that to the next contender.

3. Very nice.
Haven't heard him say so yet, but I have a feeling Thom is firmly in the Edwards camp? Has anyone heard if he's announced an endorsement?
