1. I don't think it's intended to help him, Murdoch knows his audience
The quickest way to scare off some moderate whites is for Obama to seem "too black" or seem too appealing to blacks. Look how uncomfortable some folks were when Oprah came out and endorsed BO, can you imagine how some would react if Jessie and Al started stomping for Barack? Because of his race, because of his father's religion and because of his name Barack has to walk tight rope that no other candidate have to walk and so far he's done a good job, IMO.

3. I guess you missed their negative editorial from a couple days ago
where Kimberley Strassel attacked the notion that he was bipartisan, basically calling him a liberal in moderate's clothing.
