I am praying for America tonight. I pray that Iowa will choose substance over money
and hype.I pray the Democrats will choose the candidate who represents the people of this nation and not the corporations.I pray that the Democrats do not choose a bipartisan who will "negotiate away our the rights of the poor and middle class for political expediency.I pray that we will choose one of our own who is a proven "fighter " against those entities that have destroyed the American Dream.I pray that Iowa will choose John Edwards to lead us forward because we so desperately need someone to care about "us".We need a "Peoples President".As Mr. Bishop states, we need a candidate who will get down on one knee and look into the eyes of a seven year old and promise to fight for his Daddy's job. We need a Plaintiffs Attorney who will take the hand of a little girl and promise to be her champion and keep his word. We need a candidate who has kept his word to the people of New Orleans, and kept his word to college students in North Carolina.We need a man who has kept his promise to his deceased son and kept his word to that son's high school. We need a man who has asked us to judge him with our hearts.We need a man who will keep his word to us. We need John Edwards.I am praying for John Edwards tonight, and I am praying for America.

9. Yeah, well at least he doesn't have
Fortress funds in off shore accounts. in fact, he doesn't even own any stocks,, because he never wanted them to influence his votes. Pretty admirable if you ask me. By the way, here are his contributions since 1998;

JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR.: CAREER PROFILE (SINCE 1989)

Top Industries
The top industries supporting Joseph R. Biden Jr. are:
1 Lawyers/Law Firms $6,265,871

3 Retired $853,148
4 Securities & Investment $839,775
5 Misc Finance $499,470
6 Misc Business $462,641
7 Business Services $455,925
8 Health Professionals $382,275
9 TV/Movies/Music $364,666
10 Lobbyists $333,185
11 Finance/Credit Companies $294,650
12 Misc Manufacturing & Distributing $294,249

14 Commercial Banks $269,050

17 Retail Sales $186,400
18 General Contractors $175,550

20 Democratic/Liberal $129,490

So, that's about a $563,000 bucks in 18 years. Or $31,000 a year in contributions. I doubt he does anything for the banks, at all.

John, however, filed 46! pages of financial reports with the FEC;

is not going to negotiate away your rights. Why don't you try to find something real for your opposition posts.

11. Oh, knowing you for a few years
and your "prayer" ridicule validates it. Seriously, it's ridiculous. He worked with planned parenthood in Illinois to create a strategy to protect abortion rights. He got full support to video murder interrogations to protect civil rights. He worked on racial profiling issues. There is absolutely NO basis to claim he would negotiate away your rights. It's cheap and ridiculous.

23. Whaaat? I am not a big fan of organized religion and Abortion is a huge issue for me in the sense
I am Pro-Choice.I would NEVER vote for an anti choice candidate.Is that what you are referring too? What would that have to do with Obama?Or any of the current candidates except maybe DK who "used " to be anti choice?

31. You may not think so...but he is sure as hell going to negotiate away the
middle class' ability to have a viable future. He's listening to the Republicans...he's holding out the olive branch...when all the Republicans can/will do is rape the country blind. He's an enabler, from the sound of it. And I'm not buying his brand of change. I HOPE that the OP poster's prayer is answered tonight, cuz I'm praying right along.......

I agree with you and that was an eloquent plea for Edwards and America. You almost convinced me...at least it will certainly be easier to take if he wins. I pray with all my heart that you are right if he wins.
Good luck!

19. Excuse me, are there any poor people in the race?
Do you think that one multimillionaire is somehow less tainted by their richness than another?

What is this hypocritical attitude that a lot of people seem to have?

32. I think that if a multimillionaire has put his life into helping others make
or more correctly, collect, millions rightly due them (what Edwards has been doing) AND if that multimillionaire has made inequality of wealth in the richest nation in the world his CAUSE, then I choose the one who champions the little guy. To me, that appears to be John Edwards. Listen to the man speak. Listen to his wife. Then tell me he doesn't care. Tell me he isn't using his millions to help the average joe.

I plan on being a millionaire someday. That is going to disqualify me from caring about my people? Bullshit!
