Hillary gets 30%, and gets 30% among women... so she had no gender ga

Gergen could not have been correct.

8. No, it works out the same, unless Hillary led Obama among men. Unlikely!
Edited on Thu Jan-03-08 10:25 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
57% women means 43% men. Hillary gets 30% of 57%=17.1% That means she got a tad higher percentage among men than women... impossible.

I'm pretty sure they were misunderstanding that the number is among *young* women. 17-29.

since Obama led easily among indys, led among men, led massively among the young... if he also led by five point among ALL women he would be a lot more than 7 points ahead of her.

12. Now I get it. That's the entrance polling figure, which we now know is inaccurate
Edited on Thu Jan-03-08 11:02 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
No matter how you shift the numbers, if you get 30% total and get 30% of women that means you also did 30% among men, whether women are 10% or 90% of the total.

So the exit polling missed Clinton's female support on the low-side. Otherwise it would require that Hillary did equally well with men and women, and we know she didn't.
