Hey Obama Supporters!! My kids are in love with your candidate.

I have been very, very uninspired by all our candidates, as is well known on DU. I have NOT made this a secret.

Tonight, the family and I were watching the Iowa returns and a curious thing happened...

My kids fell in love with your candidate.

I have a 7-month-old daughter (who's physically advanced for her age - pulling up, crawling and standing). She watched Edwards, HRC, Gomer - I mean Huckabee - and Chisleface - I mean Romney and nothing. She couldn't care less. Then, Obama took the stage and she was bouncing and bouncing and bouncing. She starting singing, "La, lu, la, lu" which is how she says "I love you" (or so we think). She smiled a lot and was excited.

Then my son - an 8-year-old boy (who happens to be half Arabic) came upstairs about the time Chris Matthews said "Barack Hussein Obama." That might be a turnoff to some (and I'm sure Matthews use of that middle name was intended to be), but, you see, that's my son's middle name; therefore, the explosion of little folks in my house was immense.

My husband's already decided to vote for Obama in our primary on Feb. 5 as a result of our kids' love for him. My jury's still out, but I will say this... I will gladly support him in the general election, which is the highest praise I have "heaped" on any candidate thus far.

Congrats and good luck, y'all.

See you in Tennessee.

Great news, Clark2008! But I really think Matthews meant it in a positive way...
he was talking about how the whole world will be covering this story and will see this win as a rejection of Bush and his foreign policy. I'm happy to hear your story! :hi:

Yes I will use flattery if that helps. :)

Really sweet story. I can just picture the little baby getting excited. And congratulations, somehow I missed the announcement. Sorry.

14. Thank you.
She was a surprise.

And, yes, my son's name means King Handsome.

But, if you've ever seen him {I think you have} you know that he is King of the Handsome Soldiers who were Taught to Salute by a General. :7

15. Yes I've seen him, he's a sweetie alright
How's he liking his little sister?

I know why we have children, by the way. It's so we can have GRANDBABIES!!! Just keep that in mind on those long days when you wonder why you ever did this to yourself. :)

I noticed your username. You know, a year ago I was a Clark supporter; I had all but decided that if Clark were to enter the race I would support him. Obama, meanwhile, did not seem seasoned enough to become President. It is amazing how Obama was able to win me over despite his inexperience.

Just my two cents.

17. That's so cute about the baby.
My parents said that when I was a baby, I would crawl over to the tv and kiss the screen whenever JFK was on.
