Let's hear it for Joe Biden and Chris Dodd!
Many of us will sorely miss them in this race. Regardless of who we have supported, these two men generate enormous respect with their wisdom and grace.

3. I just got this email from Dodd
Dear Patricia M.,

I count the past year of campaigning for the presidency as one of the most rewarding in a career of public service.

Unfortunately, I am withdrawing from that campaign tonight.

But there is no reason to hang our heads this evening -- only the opportunity to look towards a continuation of the work we started last January: ending the Iraq War, restoring the Constitution, and putting a Democrat in the White House.

I know a lot of you came to this email list through a shared desire to return our nation to one that respects the rule of law, and I want to make one thing clear to all of you:

The fight to restore the Constitution and stop retroactive immunity does not end with my Presidential campaign. FISA will come back in a few weeks and my pledge to filibuster ANY bill that includes retroactive immunity remains operative.

You've been an invaluable ally in the battle, and I'll need you to stick by my side despite tonight's caucus results.

So, one more time, thank you for all of your efforts throughout the course of this entire Presidential campaign.

We made a real difference in shaping the debate, and we'll continue to do so in the coming days, weeks and years.

I'll never forget you, and what we've fought for, together, over the past year.

Chris Dodd

4. Oh, we haven't heard the last of Joseph R. Biden. He is one of the most
brilliant foreign policy minds around and will play a MAJOR role in any Democratic administration. He can, and will, shape foreign policy for the better in a Democratic WH. Bet on it :-)

21. I would say that too, except, I'm not willing to give up any Senate seats!
I'm hoping the Dems can take all 7 of the possible Senate seats in 08, and we NEED every one we can get! If Obama is our nominee, we already lost one Senate seat! Unless any Senator we pull for another job is by law able to be replaced with another Dem. by their Governor, I don't think we should take the chance!

John Nance Garner, FDR V.P., once described the office of the vice presidency as being "not worth a bucket of warm piss."<1>

41. Unfortunately...
We are going to need a strong principled person who holds the constitution and the law in high regards as our next V.P. It may not seem that important but after what Cheney did to the office, many tools are going to have to be put back into the box.

And my best regards to Biden and Dodd. Continue the good work in the senate.

I am sure sorry they dropped out. They were the two I had narrowed my choice down to for our primary in February. And that's after I've been a rabid Gore supporter. :(

the Rethugs in a debate.

But, I'm proud of all of our Democratic candidates. The worst of the Democratic field was still better than the best of the Rethug candidates.

It was an honorable fight, and you dropped at a sensible time, so your supporters can still bring their weight to bear in the race.

and we can be proud of both of them. They are so deserving of good luck in the future and I think both will be somewhere in the next administration... although I don't want to lose them in the senate...we need them to fight off the damn Thugs and help our next president take our country back with honor.

who could have still won even if an event happened someplace in the world right before the November elections. If Obama is our nominee, watch him stammers calling on all sides to exercise restraint and see McCain sailing to the White House.
